Goats on the roof is the greatest.
Went here twice in 3 days. Children ages 4, 13, 16. Coaster is easy to slow down for younger ones. Coaster cars were spears out enough you didn’t necessarily have to worry about being rear ended if you did slow down (but I still kept a watchful eye because I had the 4 year old riding with me). Gem mining was very fun for the kids. I’d highly recommend doing it. Feeding the goats was fun also. Save some food to put in the bicycle operated cup to pedal it up to the roof for the goats on the roof to eat. GIGANTIC gift shop with gifts for anyone you can think of including home decor and the insanely cute metal goats … I bought 2 …… we had 3 people helping us with gem mining. All 3 did a great job. We really liked the guy we had 3/25 at around 1:00 who chatted about Peyton manning and basketball… he was filling in until Nathan (we think) got there. Nathan abs Ricky were also good. Ricky had the lucky touch on handing the big bucket to us that had a beautiful geode in it for our 4 year old. They take family photos too at the gem mining. Coaster is 10.00 and if you ride it you get small but nice discounts on other things (gem mining). Regarding gem mining: there are 2 size buckets for gem mining -large and small. I think the better value was the large bucket and the biggest geode we got was from that. Lots of amethyst in our haul as well as various quartzes and pyrite. It was a ton of fun for the kids. This is not a neat and tidy activity so don’t have them do gem mining in their best clothes. Goat feeding: nominal fee then 1.00 for refills. Cup used is a take home cup. Our kids seriously liked this so much we stopped a second time on the way out of town on our last day.

One of our family's favorite stops!
Man I love this place! And so does my 4 year old! Yes it's off the main strip but so worth the drive! You can plan to spend about a half hour to an hour here easily. So first off there's a huge gift shop! And there's an upstairs as well! I highly suggest going upstairs, mainly because there are windows that you can look out to see the goats on the roof (yes the name of the place is legit)! There's tons of local items and outside has wooden signs and metalwork garden items. There's also a little ice cream shop in the back! Next you can go to the front counter and buy goat food. I recommend the souvenir cup. You can bring it back same day or another trip for a refill price of just 99 cents. The cups once washed are also excellent sippy cups with a lid and straw for toddlers! You then go outside along the 2 sides fence to hand fees the goats or there are 2 bicycles set up where you can dump some food in a cup and peddle to bring it up to the goats that are on top of the building! They take a little oomph to get going, and they're adult sized so younger kids will have a hard time, but they're fun! Then if you continue outside to the right of the building there's a window to purchase tickets to do their mountain coaster. This is a fun electric one where you can fit 2 people on a car so the kids can ride with an adult. I believe the height limit is 38 inches? Not 100 % sure but I know my kid was 42" and was well above the height line. And my 4 year old absolutely loves it! You control it by pushing down on the handles to your side to go and pulling up to brake. But on the faster parts it does have automatic braking so there's no risk of going to fast and flying off. The ride up is long and you can take in the scenery of the area while it automatically pulls you up. There aren't too many big drop hills but it does have some good turns. It can get pretty fast, especially if you're a bigger person and have some weight in the vehicle. If you really want to go fast, and there's people ahead of you, you can ask them to wait if there's not a long line, and the staff will normally accommodate you. They're fun. You can't take anything with you like your goat cups, so you can put them in your car, or they'll hold them at the front for you. They also have souvenir photos if you want to buy one at the end. Price is normally $10 a person, including the kids. It's totally worth it in my families opinion. We've done this attraction probably 3-4 times, and would definitely come back again!

    What a hoot
This place is quite a unique experience. The goats on the roof will eat from your cup if you peddle it up there with one of the two special bikes that are located down below. Be aware that if the weather is hot the goats will stay in the shade and have very little interest in hanging out in the sun to get their treat. We were lucky enough to get a shot on the bike during times of shade when the goats started to meander. In the meantime go inside the store, which is stocked full of merchandise with something for everyone. There is a slide you can ride for a fee plus panning for gems although we never saw anyone having any luck with that. Goats on the Roof is a quirky place and a fun spot to spend a bit of time.

We have been here quite a few times, well ok every trip we make we go at least once, you see I have two teenage boys with Autism/ADHD they love the goats and feeding them, they also love to see the dog who works there Otis. Everyone who works there is always very patient and kind with them (this means quite a bit to us as parents of boys with Autism/ADHD) they can talk to Claire and she will listen to them and smile talking to them as long as they want to talk and ask questions. Everyone is wonderful and treat they boys like they've known then forever. It was some awesome items and unique ones too, I love to go upstairs and see what kind of bargains I can find up there, also to look out the windows and see the goats on the roof waiting for the people on the ground to send up goat food for them. On another note, my youngest son and I have ridden the Goat Coaster quite a few times, first time was on my 50th birthday back in January I think we've ridden it about 8 different times now, twice this last visit, I am surprised by my youngest son being so eager and happy to ride it, he loves it and asks to ride it every time we go.

I highly recommend visiting while you are in the area for any sort of trip or event, it'll be worth and and unforgettable experience.

We loved it so much we came back twice! Rode the coaster and did the gem mining both times. Our second time gem mining with Nathan was so fun. If you love crystals like we do, I can’t recommend the gem mining enough. The four of us came back with 10-12 large crystals each both times. Nathan made our time so special and energetic. And then there were the goats, which were so cute and fun to feed. Overall, great time that I can’t wait to do again next time I’m in Sevierville.

Neat place! Everyone is super friendly and make you feel welcomed. Thank you Nathan for being so kind and helping the kiddos with gem mining. The kids had so much fun. We got one big bucket for 25.00 (5.00 off when you ride the coaster) each of our 4 boys got about 10 gems a piece. The owner was also awesome and even gave one of my boys a gem from the store to pick out for free!
Having the goats there are added element of fun. Wish we could pet them though. Lastly was the coaster which the whole family was able to enjoy. Even the younger ones 5 and 6 years were able to enjoy by riding with Mom or Dad. The only suggestion here is make sure your spacing everyone out so you can fully enjoy your ride in case someone wants to go slow. Disappointed that we had to slow down on our last run because someone wanted to take a slow.
Thanks for a fun afternoon!

While my daughter rode the associated coaster with her Dad, my 15 month old son and I poked around outside the Goats on the Roof store for quite awhile. The store is JAM PACKED with things, so much that we didn't even attempt to look around with his grabby hands and the lack of masks by customers and staff inside, but I got some fudge. The praline fudge was DELICIOUS! SO GOOD. The birthday cake flavor was a bit too sweet for me. The staff was very friendly, in a non-pandemic time with older kids, this store would have been a ton of fun.

We also bought goat food, and fed the goats outside, for quite awhile. That was super fun, and both my little one and his older sister (age 3) really loved seeing and petting them. Other customers doing the same did not wear masks, but we kept our distance, and of course had ours on. (Plus being outside, I have a lot less worry.)

The store also has inexpensive gem mining, but we took a pass on that.

I bought fudge at another (more expensive) location at the Island later and regret it. I should have come back here.

This was a fun stop. It ended up being pretty expensive for our family but I think it was worth it.
I thought we were going to go to the roof to feed the goats but we could only feed them on the ground (and with a pully to get the food to the roof).
We did the ride many times and it was super fun. It goes very fast (but you can go very slow if you feel the need). The line was never very long so the longest we waited was maybe 10 minutes. We had 75 year old - 10 year olds. Everyone loved the ride. But with that many rides it got quite expensive.
We also did the gem mining. The kids absolutely loved this. We ended up doing two buckets per kid because they just wanted to keep going. They stock the buckets with lots of very cool looking gems. Every bucket also had an arrow head. The kids absolutely loved finding the different color gems and comparing them to each other. There are some we will be using to make jewelry. The man that was doing the gem mining was very sweet and helpful. He obviously likes kids and was just as happy for each of their finds as the kids were (even though I am sure he has been "that happy" 1 million times).
The gift shop was also quite extensive without being just full of junk. We found some very quality souvenirs from this place.
We ended up spending probably 3-4 hours there.

Came here on vacation based on a friend’s recommendation and we were very disappointed. We could not find a single employee to help us. We were interested in the gem mine as well as the coaster and did nothing but walk around aimlessly looking for someone who looked like they might work there. I even went to the two women at the register who were so busy taking to each other that they apparently didn’t see me standing in front of them for three minutes. I recommend either name tags so newcomers can recognize employees or even some signs directing folks where to go.

Who doesn’t love to feed some adorable goats hanging out while you race down a mountain on a coaster? This was a great activity for the family to do and we had ages 5-14 with us. Coaster was only $10 per person per ride and you got $5 off a bucket for gem mining so that turned out to be $10 for a bucket of gems. The shop/store is cool to walk around in and they have some real neat things to look at. We stayed about an hour to an hour and a half. Whole family loved it and the coaster was so much fun!

Great fun for the kids. The coaster was fun and reasonably priced. Feeding the goats was fun. They have bicycles that you can pedal to send food to the goats on the roof. They are in very bad shape and missing a pedal on one, with the chain drive very old and it took a while to maneuver the food up. The gift store is good and the staff were very friendly

Last trip into Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg we went to the Goats on the Roof on the strip. We knew that this time we were going to see the bigger store and the other goats. It was great to pet and interact with the goats. Loved being able to sit on the porch swings and watch the goats. Did a little shopping inside Prices were higher than I would expect but a vast variety of selection of items.

Next time we are hoping to do the coaster. Worth the mile trip off the strip to come see the goats.

My family had an absolute blast at Goats on the Roof! We had so much fun, in fact, we returned for a second visit during our stay in the smokies, just to ride the goat coaster again. It's a fantastic place to take your kids where they can feed the goats by pedaling the food up to the roof, collect all kinds of fancy rocks and minerals at the gem mine that is on-site, and browse all kind of cool gifts and souvenirs to take home from the gift shop. If you get thirsty or hungry they have all kinds of coffee drinks and fudge. We tried several different flavors of fudge, but our favorite was the bear poop. All of the staff are super friendly, especially Nathan and Ricky who helped us get our fudge. Ricky showed my kids pictures of the bear he tracked to collect enough poop for the fudge! Don't let the name fool you, it's good stuff!!!
