    Quintessential Smokies experience
Goats on the Roof was recommend to us by a local friend of mine for our 6 and 8 year old boys and it was perfect. The both did the mountain coaster with a grown up, mined for gems (and got quite the bounty!) and fed the goats. We were there for about 50 minutes and had a great time. Quintessential Smokey Mountains!

    Pretty good
One of the better ones we rode so far. Pretty fast, not a lot of lifts! There was a few times it felt like you were going a little crazy and gonna fly off the track! But overall it was a good experience. Just wasn’t very long of a ride. But I felt like the amount of time reflected the price payed pretty well. So it was worth it. The goats were nothing special.

    Must visit everytime!
This store is always a must stop for us. We have been going for many years and love the place. We always buy cups of goat feed to let our kids feed the goats, and the cup is really nice for later use. Really nice crafts and outdoor decorations as well as clothing and other gift shop items. Very unique!! Plus the goat coaster is a blast!

Enjoyed our time with the goats
We were looking for a mountain coaster and stopped at one down the street from Goats on a Roof where the wait was 1.5 hours (the ride is 7 minutes long). We decided to check out Goats on a Roof and the wait was less than 5 minutes and the tickets were cheaper. The goats on the roof were amusing as people cranked the food up to them. Lots of tourist goodies if you are interested in finding treasures. Staff was friendly. Would recommend if you don’t want to just stand in line.

Shameless Tourist Experience I'll Visit Every Time I'm In Tennessee
Absolutely ridiculous and fun experience in the mountains of Tennessee. It's a total tourist trap and, if you're into it, makes your time there so much more fun! We fed the silly goats and did the mining experience. We rode the mountain coaster, shopped in the cavernous gift store, and played putt-putt. The staff were all friendly and matched our excitement and playfulness. I can't wait to come back!

    Rewards future American leaders
Not much to say, they promised an alpine coaster ride for 12 bucks plus tax. My little guy wanted such an experience so we shelled out the bucks. We received exactly what we were promised an alpine coaster ride for 12 bucks plus tax. Don’t expect it to be like Wild Eagle at Dollywood but if you are looking for a fun little ride and have 13 bucks plus tax to spend I would do it. Another positive is they lit kids drive themselves based on height which is cool unlike some of the communist activities up here that won’t let kids drive because of age over height. What kind of message is that sending? If a kid is taller he’s an over achiever that should be rewarded by driving the go-karts and such. If achievers aren’t rewarded then wr will stop having innovators in the future. Anyways sorry for my liberal squashing soap box it’s a cool ride

    Great staff and experience
Excellent mountain coaster. The staff runs this place so smoothly. There was a decent sized line but it moved so fast. The goats were a fun addition. Cool little shop, although the shop has small walkways.

    Cheap mini golf
Love dinosaurs so this mini golf was right up our alley. Better yet it was a decent price to play. The course was difficult which we liked. I felt bad for all those goats. Looked like they didn't have any hay or water
Glad you enjoyed the Golf . Our goats have water barrels on the ground and on the roof we fill and clean them everyday. We give them hay in the mornings and afternoon and at closing at night. Our goats have became our pets we love them . I hope you and your family come back and see us soon. Stay well

    Affordable fun for all!
This was our kids’ favorite activity of our trip! They loved the coaster (ask for extra space if you want to be able to go fast) and feeding the goats. You can peddle the food up to the goats with a bicycle or you can feed them by hand. We did many other expensive experiences and this cheap activity ended up as the favorite!

    Great mountain coaster!
We went for the mountain coaster and it didn’t disappoint. Fun, fast and worth the $12 it cost. We did a different coaster at a different place after this one and it didn’t compare plus it cost more than Goats. You could get lost in the souvenir shop and if they have it, try the moonshine fudge- so delicious! I would have ridden this all day and enjoyed every ride. The decor was unique with the dinosaurs and there really are goats on the roof.

Man I love this place! And so does my 4 year old! Yes it's off the main strip but so worth the drive! You can plan to spend about a half hour to an hour here easily.

So first off there's a huge gift shop! And there's an upstairs as well! I highly suggest going upstairs, mainly because there are windows that you can look out to see the goats on the roof (yes the name of the place is legit)! There's tons of local items and outside has wooden signs and metalwork garden items. There's also a little ice cream shop in the back!

Next you can go to the front counter and buy goat food. I recommend the souvenir cup. You can bring it back same day or another trip for a refill price of just 99 cents. The cups once washed are also excellent sippy cups with a lid and straw for toddlers! You then go outside along the 2 sides fence to hand fees the goats or there are 2 bicycles set up where you can dump some food in a cup and peddle to bring it up to the goats that are on top of the building! They take a little oomph to get going, and they're adult sized so younger kids will have a hard time, but they're fun!

Then if you continue outside to the right of the building there's a window to purchase tickets to do their mountain coaster. This is a fun electric one where you can fit 2 people on a car so the kids can ride with an adult. I believe the height limit is 38 inches? Not 100 % sure but I know my kid was 42" and was well above the height line. And my 4 year old absolutely loves it! You control it by pushing down on the handles to your side to go and pulling up to brake. But on the faster parts it does have automatic braking so there's no risk of going to fast and flying off. The ride up is long and you can take in the scenery of the area while it automatically pulls you up. There aren't too many big drop hills but it does have some good turns. It can get pretty fast, especially if you're a bigger person and have some weight in the vehicle. If you really want to go fast, and there's people ahead of you, you can ask them to wait if there's not a long line, and the staff will normally accommodate you. They're fun. You can't take anything with you like your goat cups, so you can put them in your car, or they'll hold them at the front for you. They also have souvenir photos if you want to buy one at the end. Price is normally $10 a person, including the kids. It's totally worth it in my families opinion. We've done this attraction probably 3-4 times, and would definitely come back again!

Went here twice in 3 days. Children ages 4, 13, 16. Coaster is easy to slow down for younger ones. Coaster cars were spears out enough you didn’t necessarily have to worry about being rear ended if you did slow down (but I still kept a watchful eye because I had the 4 year old riding with me). Gem mining was very fun for the kids. I’d highly recommend doing it. Feeding the goats was fun also. Save some food to put in the bicycle operated cup to pedal it up to the roof for the goats on the roof to eat. GIGANTIC gift shop with gifts for anyone you can think of including home decor and the insanely cute metal goats … I bought 2 …… we had 3 people helping us with gem mining. All 3 did a great job. We really liked the guy we had 3/25 at around 1:00 who chatted about Peyton manning and basketball… he was filling in until Nathan (we think) got there. Nathan abs Ricky were also good. Ricky had the lucky touch on handing the big bucket to us that had a beautiful geode in it for our 4 year old. They take family photos too at the gem mining.

Coaster is 10.00 and if you ride it you get small but nice discounts on other things (gem mining).

Regarding gem mining: there are 2 size buckets for gem mining -large and small. I think the better value was the large bucket and the biggest geode we got was from that. Lots of amethyst in our haul as well as various quartzes and pyrite. It was a ton of fun for the kids. This is not a neat and tidy activity so don’t have them do gem mining in their best clothes.

Goat feeding: nominal fee then 1.00 for refills. Cup used is a take home cup.

Our kids seriously liked this so much we stopped a second time on the way out of town on our last day.

Came here on vacation based on a friend’s recommendation and we were very disappointed. We could not find a single employee to help us. We were interested in the gem mine as well as the coaster and did nothing but walk around aimlessly looking for someone who looked like they might work there. I even went to the two women at the register who were so busy taking to each other that they apparently didn’t see me standing in front of them for three minutes. I recommend either name tags so newcomers can recognize employees or even some signs directing folks where to go.

Last trip into Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg we went to the Goats on the Roof on the strip. We knew that this time we were going to see the bigger store and the other goats. It was great to pet and interact with the goats. Loved being able to sit on the porch swings and watch the goats. Did a little shopping inside Prices were higher than I would expect but a vast variety of selection of items.

Next time we are hoping to do the coaster. Worth the mile trip off the strip to come see the goats.

Fun little alpine coaster for only $10! They do charge an additional fee if you pay by card, so bring cash to save a little money. They also offer military discounts (just show your ID). Love that you can control how fast you want to go with the brake handles - I went full speed ahead, so it felt like I was about to fly off the track around the curves, but my friends didn't go as fast and said they didn't get that feeling. Least expensive coaster in the area, even with no discount applied. They also have fudge and ice cream inside the shop, a gem mining experience, and if the goats are not on the roof and in their ground level pen, you can pet and feed them. At night, everything is lit up and it's really pretty. They do take your picture on the track, but it's towards the end so they don't come out as good as they might if they took the photos close to the beginning of the track.

This place was just a cool, laid back place. Where else can you see goats on a roof, ride a mountain coaster, and relax in an adirondack chair. This was the only mountain coaster we did during this trip so i don’t know if it’s the fastest or longest but I can tell you it was fun. My wife, both kids (12, 9) and myself all rode multiple times. One thing we did like was you only pay full price for the first ride. After that’s it’s just $5 per person to ride again. We will be back next trip.

We went on this coaster last fall and returned this summer. I love that you don’t have to search for coupons and the price is $10 per ride. My kids are obsessed with the goats actually being on the roof and the cute funny bikes that you can use to bring the food up to the roof to feed them. They’ll even eat grass in the buckets because they’re goats 😆 The gift shop is also a big hit with a bunch of random souvenirs.

This coaster runs extremely fast! Admittedly, I had to use the brake a couple of times, but the kids (ages 13, 11 & 9 did not - lol). And for just $10 per ride, this coaster has all the others beat pricewise. There is also an extensive gift shop here - and goats.

My 3-year old rode twice with her father and had a blast. Would highly recommend.
Speed is controlled by the rider, so it can be fast or slow, depending on your preference. Masks were required, which we appreciated.

Husband had never done a ride like this and he also said it was fun.

It was $15 for the adult, and $5 for the kid. The re-ride is $5 each, so no savings for the kiddo on that one.

I also appreciate that the ticket woman did not laugh at the incredible tantrum my 1-year old threw when we did not let him ride (he did not meet the minimum age or height.)

This place is quite a unique experience. The goats on the roof will eat from your cup if you peddle it up there with one of the two special bikes that are located down below. Be aware that if the weather is hot the goats will stay in the shade and have very little interest in hanging out in the sun to get their treat. We were lucky enough to get a shot on the bike during times of shade when the goats started to meander. In the meantime go inside the store, which is stocked full of merchandise with something for everyone. There is a slide you can ride for a fee plus panning for gems although we never saw anyone having any luck with that. Goats on the Roof is a quirky place and a fun spot to spend a bit of time.
