Cherokee Rafting was one of the first companies to begin rafting the Ocoee River. Our company started in 1978 as a family-run operation, and still running strong today. Guests love our rough cut, hand-constructed outpost/store located along Hwy 64 just outside of the Cherokee National Forest and Chilhowee Mtn. Our goal is that every guest of Cherokee Rafting will leave with the desire to return with family and friends. We specialize in all sizes and types of groups, including: church youth and young-at-heart groups, association groups like scout troops and rotary clubs, in addition to business team-building groups. The guides tell you exactly what to expect and how to maneuver everything to ensure everyone has a good time and also remain safe while doing so. Aaron has been our guide twice and he is very good. I would totally recommend Cherokee rafting in general if you want to try white water rafting and also I recommend Aaron as a guide but it did seem that all of their guides were good at what they do. We had enough people for two boats and the people in the other boat also had a good experience with Josh. We hope to go at least once per summer and will request Aaron again if he’s available.

This was the first time my family went white water rafting. We had the most amazing time! Such a fun adventure and we have Cherokee Rafting to thank. Our experience was awesome thanks to our guide, Kyle. He was so entertaining, very knowledgeable, made us feel safe and made the trip a ton of fun! We will definitely be back and hopefully, Kyle will still be there to take us down the river again! THANK YOU KYLE!

I have rafted the Ocoee River many times, but this was the first time that I had rafted it using Cherokee Rafting as the outfitter. I had met their new guide Laura two weeks before in Ocoee, TN and she had told me, very enthusiastically, that she had just finished guide school and would be working for Cherokee Rafting starting Memorial Day weekend. She was a very nice person and I jumped at the opportunity to help support a new guide just getting started. Two weeks later I got a quick trip together with friends and called Cherokee and requested Laura as our guide and I promise she didn't disappoint!! Although Laura is a new guide this season, she took great care of us and we had an absolute blast on our trip! One friend that went with us seemed a bit nervous about our trip before we even got to the outfitter, but she was all smiles while on the raft thanks to Laura! She was very informative regarding the history of the area (which I always enjoy hearing about) and she made sure that we had safe fun on the river. I will for sure use Cherokee Rafting and their awesome guide Laura again!!

Brett was our guide....awesome, intelligent, and fun. Prices are great, the rafting is safe and adventurous. This place does not take advantage of its clients like Disney or water parks or theme parks do. High quality water shoes are available for purchase for $10. Pictures are taken at a key spot from awesome photographer stationed on the bank. The photographer took 21 pictures of my family and I as we rafted by. We purchased the entire photo package for $30. Any other place would charge 30 for one picture. The excellent service, attention to detail, the quality of the experience, and the reasonable prices are just a few of the reasons this place has been satisfying people for a long long time.

What an amazing experience in a beautiful location! I highly recommend choosing Cherokee Rafting over the others, I have booked with a few of them previously and this company was by far the most professional and organized, and they made me feel like I was in good hands. Vivian was our guide and was very knowledgeable about the river and wildlife. She went through all the safety procedures patiently and made sure we were set up for a safe and wild trip down the Ocoee. Thanks guys for an amazing summer day!

First time rafting. Did the middle river trip. We had Dan as our guide and he was fantastic!! They go over all your safety instructions before you got on the bus, and another short intro to the instructions your guide will give you on the water when your get to the launch site. Many short stops down the river to make sure all the rafts make it safely across any rapid. Theres even a swimming section where you can all get off the rafts and enjoy the cool water and flow of the river. They take pictures and you can get all of them (about 30 pictures) for $30 on the middle trip. They get emailed directly to you. We will definetly be coming back!

Without a doubt, some of the best fun you're going to have in a long time. Kyle was our guide. He was outstanding! Not only was he knowledgeable about the river but he was a great tour guide. I could tell he was very well seasoned and also takes safety very seriously without being a drag. That's a talent! I was impressed at how he was able to get 6 people who are not expert rafters manage a raft through the river with relative ease. It looked like he was having a good time too. He was entertaining as well. Thanks for the great jokes and stories as well that kept the mood light. Would love to come back summer for the full river experience. Cherokee Rafting is a great outfit!

We only did the middle or half trip but would recommend a full day if you have the time. The whole staff made sure that we felt safe and had a great time. Special shoutout to Dawson who made our trip even better by ensuring we were able to take advantage of every opportunity that the rapids had to offer. Scenic, safe and more importantly a new memory shares with wonderful friends in Father’s Day. Thank you Cherokee team!

In July, as part of a group, I did the five mile experience and enjoyed it so much I came back a few weeks alter to do the 10 mile experience with family.
It is so much fun, I highly recommend it for everyone except for people who have a prohibitive medical condition or people who are unwilling to follow the instructions of the guides.
Some of the things I liked best about it were just getting out in nature, the water temperature was perfect and the guides all did a great job for both of my experiences - both the guide in my raft and the other guides who were in other rafts that were part of our group. I love swimming holes so I especially liked the couple opportunities on our trip to just jump in the water and swim.
This activity is definitely on my list of things to do every year.

We attended as a large middle school church group and we enjoyed every minute of this trip! We had nine rafts in total, all with exceptional guides. They kept us safe and having fun the whole river ride. We loved our guide Pastor Mike! He not only kept it fun and our instructions simple, but also gave us lots of history about the Ocoee all along the way which we loved!! He definitely made it an awesome and exhilarating experience, one that every kiddo in my raft thoroughly enjoyed! We were ready to go again and can’t wait to come back to Cherokee Rafting! They will be a family favorite from now on! Thanks Cherokee Rafting for an amazing day on the Ocoee!!

They should have a schedule on their website as well as cost. It was reasonably priced-a little less than some of the other outfitters and we were very pleased with our experience. We did the full river.
