Being a frequent traveler, food tours are something that I seek out in every new city that I visit as they are a great way to learn about an area and taste its most popular and iconic foods. My 2 friends and I took a Local Tastes of Nashville food tour of the Gulch when visiting Nashville on a girls' weekend getaway. I highly recommend this experience as it gives you the chance to try several of Nashville's best restaurants and local foods all in one experience. Plus, the tour is narrated by local experts who share about the area's history, as well as each restaurant's signature dishes and rise to popularity. Our tour guide Dean was a local who not only taught and guided us along but coordinated all of the 4 stops, and foods (ordering), as well as provided bottled water and answered questions along the way. He was great! I strongly recommend this experience when visiting Nashville!

We had a wonderful time on this tour. Our guide, Ellen, was super cool and very knowledgeable. She gave us a lot of interesting tidbits about Nashville and the different food spots we stopped at. Overall, the food we had was very good. We both thought having sweet food at the middle stop was a bit weird. Ellen was the best!!

We our so glad you joined us and had a great tour! Yes, the route takes us by sweet treats that can not be passed by! Hand made truffles at Tempered Cafe and Chocolates and the bonuts from Biscuit Love are not to be missed!

We had a fabulous tour of with Kristen. We all loved the stories and the food. It was a wonderful way to start my mom’s visit.
On a side note, we booked through Vacations Made Easy and they up charged us over $100. When I called to talk with a supervisor at VME and explained that the price quoted on the original screen was changed on the final screen, she said that “it was the price I agreed to” when I clicked purchase. DO NOT use Vacations Made Easy. Purchase tickets directly through Taste of the Gulch.

I’ve done about 10 different food tours and I was disappointed by this one. They took us to 5 restaurants of which 2 were good and the other 3 were just random. They gave us small portions and I was left hungry at the end. For example they took us to a bar to give us a milk shake split into 4 different cups. Why a bar and not an ice cream store…
They probably spent 15 dollars a person and charged $65…
Save your money and go eat on your own.

We had a wonderful time on our food tour through the Gulch led by Rebecca. We visited 4 restaurants; and each one hit, it was a 4/4 in our books. The food you eat has been picked after long hours of tasting and testing, and each item will leave you drooling for the next. On top of this, Rebecca was a wonderful guide, not only showing us tasty food but also showing us some knowledge of the city and the gulch as well. We had so much fun, would recommend to anyone! If you are worried about the walking, there was not to much of that either! 10/10 would recommend!

There were 9 in our group and 2 of us had dietary restrictions (gluten free/no pork or beef and dairy free). Dean did a great job accommodating us and Jenny was an informative and entertaining group guide. The amount of food was not overwhelming, but enough to give you a good idea of what you could find at each restaurant.
All in all an enjoyable afternoon.

Fun and educational tour! Dean, our tour guide through German Town, was an excellent guide and host. He gave us just enough history mixed with conversation. He took care of special dietary requests for vegetarians and made sure our questions were answered. All in all a great day spent with friends learning about Nashville! We will try a different tour as well when we return. Thank you for a fun day Dean!

We had so much fun on our Gulch walking food tour with Dean. We had a large group of friends (11) that they were able to arrange for us on relatively short notice and Dean was attentive, knowledgeable and accommodative to our crazy crew (including 3 celiacs). The food was delicious (highly recommend Biscuit Love and Peg Leg Porker) and we came away with a unique and memorable appreciation of the Gulch and Nashville overall. Thank you Dean!

We had a great time on this tour. Ellen is very knowledgable about Nashville and the food scene and she puts together a great lineup of local restaurants to visit. I highly recommend this tour to spend a great afternoon visiting some of the top places to dine at in the Gulch Section of Nashville.

It was a fun experience and enjoyed the local tastings! Our guide, Dean, was a pleasure to be led by around the gulch as he had some cool facts about the city and places we visited. He handled a group of 14 very well! The food and drinks were tasty! I would recommend this to anyone visiting Nashville!

Hello!
We are a group of 8 women seeking an unforgettable culinary tour suited to foodies from Canada! We are interested in a brunch/lunchtime walking tour of The Gulch area of Thursday, June 7. Is there any availability with your best guide?! We are celebrating a dear friend’s milestone birthday with this weekend trip to nashville. We are from various cities across canada and most of us have never been to Nashville! Hope to hear from you soon! Thanks so much. Erica

I have a few food allergies and was wondering if you could accommodate me? I am gluten and dairy and sesame free. What do you think?
Written November 28, 2017
The Germantown tour has more gluten and dairy free options. We have had guests with both and they have been pleased!

Hello, I have been on the road 2 months with my wife in our RV. I am driving to Nashville from Lexington on Sunday 10/9. I would like to surprise her with the Local Tastes tour. Monday would probably be best if you can fit us in, as we will be moving on right away. We are both real "foodies," but not snobs, LOL. And she is an excellent cook.
Written October 9, 2016
My only concern would be if the tour operates on Mondays! Definitely go if you can! I am returning to Nashville next week and hope to do the Gulch tour this time!
