Nice to see historic site next to the statehouse. Apparently, his tomb may move for a fourth time to a new location.

Unexpected find on the capital tour. It is right close to the Tennessee copy of the liberty bell which my kids enjoyed ringing.

We visited downtown Nashville on a very busy day and still found this site easy to access and worth the visit. We had visited the Polk home in Columbia the day before. Tennessee has three presidents and pays tribute to all three at the capital....More

This tomb is right next to the capital. Our bucket list is to see all the president tombs, so this was 1 president chalked up. The tomb is very basic.

It's a nice monument/ tomb on the East side of the state Capitol. It is just north of the large Andrew Jackson statue.

President Polk wasn't born here. He wasn't even really a great president. He's pretty much all they've got though, so they do it up as best they can. Interesting life and times story.

This is a calm, peaceful setting for Polk's gravesite. Located on the capital grounds, it was a nice find while I was in Nashville for a conference. Out of the 9 presidential gravesite I have visited, this one was very simple, but elegant.
