Established July 2012. Hank, Johnny, Chet, George, Tammy, Conway, Loretta, Dolly, Willie . . . There was a time when country music was on a first name basis with its fans. A time when the streets of downtown Nashville were alive with the sound of backroom guitar pulls, Midnight Jamborees and the Grand Ole Opry. Now you can recapture the magic of this golden era on the Walkin' Nashville Music City Legends Tour. Packed with history and behind-the-scenes anecdotes about your favorite country legends, this 90-minute walking tour tells the real story of how Nashville came to be called Music City. You'll see Printer's Alley, The Ryman Auditorium, Tootsie's Orchid Lounge, Ernest Tubb Record Shop and Hatch Show Print.Your friendly guide is Grammy-nominated journalist and musician, Bill DeMain. A longtime resident of Nashville, he will show you hidden corners of the city not found in any guidebook and tell you stories you won't hear on any other tour. From APRIL - OCTOBER, tours run Tuesday, Thursday-Saturday. From NOVEMBER - MARCH, tours run Friday & Saturday only (weekdays available by special arrangement for groups of 8 or more)Start Time: 10:30 AM (Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to check in)Tour Length: Approx. 2 Hours

Great way to see all the places in Nashville where the greats and not so greats hung out. Be sure and wear comfortable shoes. You will be walking the streets of Nashville.

Bill has such a wonderful understanding of the history of country music. It was interesting to know how the city of Nashville seemed to be a draw for rock, folk and blues artists and how each genre has had influences on each other. Along with the music history, our tour was peppered with interesting general history of this beautiful city.... More

The tour is assembled and lead by a man named Bill. He is taking decades of his personal interest and involvement in the music industry and sharing his perspective within these tours. He has a wealth of knowledge to share that would not be available within any scripted environment. I highly recommend including this in visit to Nashville.

The tour was very informative and Bill gave great info about Nashville and country music. I would recommend this to someone on vacation looking for something fun to do. As a casual country fan I learned a lot about the music and why people love it. Bill was such a good guy and gave a great tour.

We were a bit concerned that we had scheduled this tour late in our week of visiting Nashville (due to limited availability of the tour). We had already done a hop-on/hop-off bus tour earlier in the week, and hoped this would not prove to be redundant. Not a problem. This proved to be a great supplement, with little overlap with...
