The restaurants here must cater to the business crowd because almost all the shops were closed when we passed through here on a weekend! Except for the shoe repair store - he was open - a go-getter!

We passed through during our walking tour, nice history of the building which is good to know but not much to see and would need some renovation. A lot small places with food and some galleries.

The history of this building is very interesting and any architect would be interested in its old structure and how it does pull one in, but the galleries and other businesses seemed to be not interested in living up to the beautiful building. Both need a new coat of redo.

This is a great stretch of a large block along a small covered walkway loaded with small, reasonable shops and restaurants. The only drawback is that they’re not open all the time. You need to go in the middle of the day.

The Nashville Arcade in Nashville, Tennessee, is a covered shopping arcade in the downtown area that has been a center of the city's vibrant arts community since it was founded in 1902. Located between Fourth and Fifth Avenues, it was Nashville's first shopping center, replacing the former Overton Alley. Designed by Thompson, Gibel, and Asmus, it was modeled after an arcade in Italy with the two entrances consisting of identical Palladian facades and a glass skylight overhead. The building, which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973, features 17 galleries and five restaurants, even the Uptown Branch of the U.S. Postal Service. Among the most popular art galleries are Craig Brabson Fine Art Photography, UltraViolet Gallery & Photography, Hannah Lane Gallery, Studio 66, Nostos Gallery, BelArt Studio & Gallery and Andy Anh Ha Gallery. While taking a break from browsing, stop at The Peach Cobbler Factory or purchase an original New York-style pizza at Manny's House of Pizza or munch on an authentic Philly Cheese Steak from Phillyman.
