We visited this little museum with a lot of guitars, mandolines and other instruments. We thought it a beautiful collection. There is the possibility to play on a few instruments as well.

"Small" refers to the physical space. The number and range of instruments is really quite large. We often rate an instrument's importance by the fame of someone who played it. Here it's the instruments themselves that are iconic

I visited this place in the Belmont library with my fiancée and her brother. The guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and engaging. I really enjoyed being allowed to play a 1933 Gibson — truly a once in a lifetime experience.

Part of a personal collection on display in the library. Awesome guitars, and mandolins with a very personal experience as we were the only people there. Worth a stop for a free visit.

What a hidden gem this is. Located in the library at Belmont University, you won’t find a more pleasurable, unique collection of historic guitars & mandolins than the Shaw Collection. Exhibits include the iconic 1958 Gibson Les Paul Standard and a 1939 Martin D-45, one...More

My boyfriend is a local musician back home and he absolutely loved the exhibit. I’m a history buff and loved being able to see how the instrument has evolved over time and artifacts from the 1880s. It was well worth the $5. It’s not very...More

Interesting collection of various stringed instruments. Moreso for husband who is guitarist. Entrance was only $5. Took about half an hour thoroughly looking at each instrument.

Located on the grounds of Belmont and within the Lila D. Bunch University is the Gallery of Iconic Guitars, so it's not a self standing building but a space within the library. Now, I'm not a huge fan but if you are in-store for a...More

All of the above, they do have some famous artists and then also rare guitars. It's a very nice display area and they have an attendant that is well informed on the history of the pieces.
