"The Bluebird Cafe is one of the world's preeminent listening rooms and has gained worldwide recognition as a songwriter's performance space where the "heroes behind the hits" perform their own songs; songs that have been recorded by chart-topping artists in all genres of music. Located in a small strip mall outside of downtown Nashville, the tiny 85 seat venue is unassuming in appearance but some of the most significant songwriters and artists have performed on this stage.

Here's the thing, you cant just go here 15 minutes before a show and expect to get in unless you have a reservation. We just drove by cause my Nashville obsessed friend wanted a picture. We got there at 3pm and there were already two people in line (Doors open at 5:30). Only 21 people in line could get into... More

As British fans of the programme this was a must visit for us and we were lucky enough to get online tickets for a Wednesday early evening songwriters performance (14th Sept). The venue is small and quite unassuming from outside but great atmosphere inside with performers only feet away - so nowhere for them to hide. Food is ok and... More

Had an amazing time! Intimate and charming. You can listen to a lot of music but listening to it here was so very cool.

Yes, it's almost impossible to get seats. When you do, and you arrive at a rather run down strip mall, and then enter a rather run down venue, you may wonder why on earth everyone tells you to go to bluebird. The food and drinks are served, and you still don't understand what's special about the place. Then, the performers... More

Last time I was in Nashville (spring 2016), I didn't make it over to the Bluebird and have been disappointed since. This time (just returned) while in Nashville, I went my first night. WARNING - reserve online in advance or be prepared to wait....and I mean wait! We looked online and saw they were sold out so noticed the doors... More

Super night in this small intimate music venue. To get a change from the Honky Tonks on Broadway well worth a visit. Book reservations on line a week before, this puts your name on guest list. Friendly staff and amazing music. It's about 6 miles out of town.

While in Nashville, we made reservations for dinner at the Bluebird Cafe. (Each person must spend $7.00 while there.) Four song writers sat in a circle in the center of the restaurant and sang their own songs. Some were up and coming and one was a veteran writer. All had sold songs to famous country artists. It was a fun... More

Communication from the staff outside was dismal. It feels like they have lost their appreciation for their customers. We arrived 50 minutes before the open mic night. Overall the lack of order with the line was frustrating. About a dozen people jumped the line ahead of us to join their friends who had been waiting. We missed the cut but... More

While in Nashville on a recent road trip, I made a point of booking a seat at the Bluebird Café for an evening of country music brought to you by the writers that bring us so many great country songs. The Bluebird dedicates its self to only song writers thus giving them a "stage" to display their song writing prowess.... More
