- EMSJBath, United Kingdom554 contributionsGo in just to say you’ve been there.Like most peoples reviews we only went into this bar to say we’d been in. The security guard at the door was indeed very rude. The drinks were extremely expensive $20 for 2 bottles of Bud!!! The band on the first floor were just screaming at the mike, but the group on the second floor were in fact very good.Visited September 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten September 18, 2023
- Simon H13 contributionsBrilliantOne of the two original Honky Tonks on Broadway (the other being Roberts Western World - another top bar). Fantastic atmosphere and great music. Lots of memorabilia on the walls. A solid pick for a brilliant music experience.Visited September 2023Traveled with friendsWritten September 21, 2023
- AmyNebraska38 contributions3 levels of live musicThe beer is expense but the dive bar atmosphere is totally dependent on what band is playing. Make sure to checkout all 3 levels to see which band you like best, don’t just stop on the first level. All the bands switch over at 10 pm and then no music for a while so plan accordingly.Visited September 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten September 30, 2023

Went downtown and ate at Jason Aldean's place the food was good, the hot chick mac & cheese was fantastic. Walked around the rest of downtown, it was good. The next day went to Opry Mills mall. Giant mall with lots of interesting stores. Took the General Jackson dinner boat and show. The food was ok and the show was good.Visited October 2023Traveled with friendsWritten November 1, 2023
- DoverDaddyEmsdale, Canada774 contributionsExtremely busyThis place is Country music famous. I have been here numerous times and every time it's very busy. Three stories high with a bar on each level and live music. 3rd floor even had a patio. Service was fast and friendly. It was a Saturday afternoon with a hockey game that night and football on Sunday. It was extremely busy on all levels and at $10 beers with not enough seating. It has a really nice view of the downtown strip.Visited October 2023Traveled with friendsWritten November 3, 2023
- JDog584Waterbury, Connecticut129 contributionsStopped for the history!A friend and I stopped at Tootsie's as we were bar hopping throughout broadway. It was packed inside, near impossible to move around, and just not enjoyable. It was cool to stop in just because of the history of the place, but I don't think I would go back unless I was with someone who wanted to go in for the same reason that I did. I don't have much else to say about the place.Visited June 2023Traveled with friendsWritten November 10, 2023
- napngsAlbany, New York354 contributionsWe sat at the first floor bar in this photo Sun Sept 24, 2023Tootsie's Orchid Lounge is a three story music venue, bar, & restaurant. It's nostalgic, loud, fun with cheap drinks and music of all kinds by people trying to get record contracts in Nashville. Right on Broadway & 5th Ave N next to the historic & original home of the Grand Ole Opry, Ryman Auditorium. We visited her on Sun Sept 24, 2023 around 1:00pm. No cover charges in Nashville. Three floors of live music music, bars, & food. Supposedly Willie Nelson has admitted that he had been to Tootsie's "before, during, & after" performances at the Ryman. The photos on the walls are a testament to all that have sang, played, & partook at this hallowed drinking palace. A couple of drinks and we split a good sandwich for lunch. This is a true watering hole and honky tonk establishment. Grab a seat & a drink and listen to music by players that you just may say "we saw them back in the day at Tootsie's". Open 7 Days a Week 9:30am - 3:00am Kitchen Hours 10:00am - 1:00am This place is always busy but is a must stop on Music Row in Nashville, TN Thanks to bartender Lauren M & the staff here. - A. M.Virginia Beach, Virginia431 contributionsGreat Bands, Great AtmosphereTootsies came highly recommended both by local friends who live here and also on nearly every single list of places to go for live music in Nashville. We stopped in after visiting a few other bars on Music Row and were not disappointed. It's not as fancy inside as some of the newer ones, but it's charming and bare bones bar feeling. Dive-y. A new band had just taken the stage at about 10pm and they had a fiddle player so I knew I was in for a treat. She was excellent and of course there was Charlie Daniels in the mix. The first floor is very stuffy and cramped with barely any room to walk or move around, the second floor is much larger and has a much larger stage and the third floor is the largest of all and most spread out. The band on the first floor was my personal favorite though. They do have a food menu but we stuck to music and drinks.Visited January 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten January 7, 2024
- Jim HBoise, Idaho137 contributionsGreat nightWe had a ball there. The girls behind the bar were incredible. They didn’t miss a beat. The band was great. It was crowded wall to wall up front. There’s another area in the back we don’t go to. Might not have been so tight.Visited February 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten February 4, 2024

Terrible! We were told, not asked to leave our table. It was a busy night and my wife and I and my brother and his wife dropped in to hear music and take in the historic ambience. It was part of a surprise trip my wife had planned for my 60th birthday. We waited for a table like everyone else does, and finally one opened up and we sat down. About 30 minutes into our visit, a waitress walked over to our table and told us she had to clear the table and that we had to leave. We were in the process of ordering another round of drinks and they told us, didn’t ask us, to leave. We weren’t given the opportunity to finish our drinks, just rushed right out the door. We were all confused and did not immediately realize what was going on. The waitress was rude and unsympathetic when we asked why we were being asked to leave, and when we were slow to clear out in all this confusion, she got the bouncer involved. The bouncer explained that another guest just offered them $500 for our table for an hour, so we had to leave. This is a horrible way to do business especially in this city so dependent on the tourist/ hospitality trade. There are so many better options, musically and service-wise, on the very same street, and I recommend you choose anywhere but Tootsie’s.

We had a great time at Tootsies. While it was incredibly crowded, so was everywhere else. We made our way through the levels and once we decided the rooftop was just too crowded, we ended up on another floor right behind a band. It was standing only, but there is a "bar" around the band platform where people can stand to watch, and at least we were out of the way of traffic and could watch the band and lean against something.
The band was so fun, it was almost like a live band karaoke but with great singers from the crowd. We had fun interacting with some of the band members and just really enjoyed the "dive bar" atmosphere.
Nothing fancy here, just a fun place to feel like you're really in Nashville.

This was a spot in which you could tell hopeful musicians came to hear and network with other hopeful musicians. I CAN NOT stand when bands take 30-45 to switch sets. It’s rude to those buying drink, who came out in the cold, and even during Covid. It’s disrespectful. As a musician myself who has played every major venue in LA this would have been completely unacceptable. You come to hear music not to watch one band chat it up with the next in between sets. The drinks are basic and the ambiance is best on the balcony overlooking the strip. Each band is talented I’ll give you that.

4 of us sat for a few hours and enjoyed the great live music and general vibe of the place. Our waitress was great. The bill was not so great. With each drink comes a plate of 4 French fries and a few tator tots that we did not order. We thought it was funny they kept bringing them and assumed it was a perk like peanuts at a bar. They are not free and you are charged $5.50 every time along with a customer service fee at the end. We paid $176 for cold French fries and tator tots that we never even ordered. We had a blast but we won't be back.

Tootsie's was a great experience! It's small and crowded but the crowd is electric and the drinks are unique, since I'm not a beer drinker. Loved it when the whole place sang Brooks' 'I've Got Friends in Low Places. Being a senior citizen I wouldn't have sought it out on my own but my daughter's friend lives in Nashville and said we had to go. So glad we did!

I’ve been here a couple times before but today’s visit left a bad taste in my mouth.
We stopped in early to have a Bloody Mary and take in the atmosphere. The Bloody Mary was extremely over priced and bland. $13 dollars a drink so small it was a glorified Dixie cup. No garnish at all . Just disappointing. I’m not one to complain about prices of drinks as I’ve traveled quite a bit and seen a lot of price variances.
Also, the band (which was just ok) kept asking people to tip $20 (this seems to be the norm in most places we went to) They even asked for $20 when they came around with the bucket. We always tip but I’m sorry, I’m not dropping $20 every time.
There are so many great places on Broadway. We left and enjoyed ourselves hopping around

It's a bar, but the food is actually really good, and also quite cheap vs. many local places. Had the pulled pork and wife had the bean burger. Both are sizeable and then they heap the plate with fries that are well seasoned. Pretzel bites were good too, but not as good as the sandwiches and fries. Inside atmosphere takes some getting used to if you've never been there...totally unpolished but steeped in history. Plus I've never heard bad music at Tootsie's. We were there 5 years ago and knew we liked it, but honestly forgot how much we liked it!

We walked in at 10pm. We were seated up stairs near the stairs so it was the battle of the bands since there are two bands one up one down. Ordered a drink and nachos. When you order a drink you get a few fries to nibble on. When I say few I mean maybe 10 fries. Nachos came pretty quickly very good. Ordered my second drink at 10:30. Bands were very good. Locals. At 11:00 lights came on and we were told to leave. I wasn’t even down signing the bill. I thought that was rude. Walking downstairs there were people still seated not getting pushed out. Covid hours or not, don’t push your customers out so you can clean up.

This is an iconic bar with great music. Seating is very limited so be ready to just stand around. Needed more umbrellas outside as it was very hot! Drinks are super pricey so bring on the cash money! Cool place to see once.

This is a spinoff of the famous Tootsie's honky tonk in downtown Nashville. We had a layover in Nashville and gave this place a try. Within a few minutes of us sitting down, a very good singer playing a guitar ended his day there. They regularly have musicians that play there. As with most airport eateries, they have a full bar with quite a few beers on tap. My wife had the Mushroom Swiss Burger ($12.50) which came with a side of fries. The burger was actually 2 burger patties, probably one half pound of meat total, with a swiss cheese slice, a few grilled mushrooms, lettuce, tomato and raw red onion. She said it had a very good beef flavor and she enjoyed it. The fries were just fries. I had the Supreme Nachos ($12.00). They come with Chili, but I substituted BBQ pork for an extra $2.00 and I'm glad I did. To my surprise, they added the pork along with chili atop the tortilla chips. The chili didn't have much flavor. There was plenty of melty queso, some tomato, and a few jalapeno slices. They were very generous with the pork. This was not pulled pork, but rather large chunks of very moist, lightly seasoned pork that had a pure pork flavor. I was very happy I got this. For airport food, it was pretty good.

I'm trying to make lunch reservations for 4 people on Friday, December 10th at 1;00pm at the Tootsie Orchid Lounge, Nashville, TN
Written December 3, 2021
We didn't eat at Tootsies, just had drinks. I think of it as more of a bar, rather than a restaurant. It is typically loud and noisy and has a great vibe and good music, but not sure I'd have lunch there when there are so many other dining options close by.

Coming to visit October 3 and 4. How do I know what local people will be performing then?
Written August 27, 2021
I have a question in general about the bars on Broadway. We will be making our first visit to Music City, but will only have a few days (Mon & Tues in August). How many bars can we realistically expect to go to, and still go to a few museums? Please advise, as we want to maximize our time, but still hit a few of the iconic bars such as Tootsie’s. Thanks
Written June 12, 2021
You can hit a number of the bars in an evening, if you are not staying long. They are all in walking distance in about a 3 to 4 block area. get food at one, and get a drink at a few others. If you are staying in Nashville Uber from the hotel to their and back and you won't have to worry about driving. Tootsies can get a line but we waited only to about 30 minutes around 630 at night during prime eating time.

We are going to be in town for their birthday bash next week - if we want rooftop access there, is there a time it is best to arrive at Tootsie's by? We'd be planning to stay & eat/drink, not just hang out... thanks!
Written October 5, 2018
We were actually there the middle of the afternoon. The first two floors were packed but the third wasn’t (it was hot that day). If you are doing an evening bash it will be packed. It will start to get busy around 6 because that’s when kids are no longer allowed in. There is a stairwell to the right of the main door. Use that to access the top floor because it’s so much easier than trying to get through the bars. We didn’t find this until we were leaving. Have a great time the city is a blast.
