Look for the big industrial bldg. Marked 1100 drive all the way to the end of the parking lot.

We loved it. Good stories and great biscuits.

We absolutely LOVED this class. MaryAnn Byrd - the Founder and teacher has a great personality and makes the class fun, entertaining, and makes amazing biscuits.
It was a small sized class (perfect) and you could tell that everyone there was having a ball. We ate a ton of biscuits, learned how to make them, laughed, talked and took pictures. Highly recommend this activity. I came home with her packaged biscuit flour, biscuit cutters, linen cloth and a flour sifter. LOVE!!!!

Essie... I like my class being described as a "HOOT." Ha! And it is! I enjoy teaching and baking for all of you who come into my biscuit kitchen. I'm actually on vacation right now, and sincerely miss having my class this week. No hot biscuits and bacon gravy...hmm it seems so unnatural. Can't wait to get back and "hoot" it up again. Thanks for the kind review.

So I planned a trip to Nashville for a week for my birthday. When we got here I was looking for something to do to pass the time. Wow what a totally lucky find to learn about Maryann and the Southern Belle Biscuit Co. I’d always wanted to master biscuit making like my mom use to make. Well we came to the right place. Maryann’s place is amazing. It’s like being in someone’s home. She has definitely mastered the art of biscuit making. She teaches you all the little secrets to empower you to make lite and airie biscuits that taste incredible. She is personality plus plus. The class was so much fun and entertaining. I don’t think I ever laughed so hard cooking. And after the teaching part where Maryann shows the art of biscuit making you get to eat these awesome biscuits. We had a cinnamon biscuit with a homemade icing and sausage gravy biscuits. Then the best part we got to make our own biscuits from scratch and taste them afterwards. It seemed so easy. No more frozen Sister Schubert’s biscuits for me. Thank you so much Maryann for keeping my moms legacy of homemade biscuits going. This was a great way to spend my birthday. Also I’m a macho guy so this isn’t just for the ladies. Two hours of pure entertainment.

I was really looking forward to this Biscuit making class and so were the five other members of our party. We took an Uber from downtown Nashville out to this class to discover she over booked the class. Although she claimed she could accommodate the huge crowd we knew it was not possible. Her classroom is very small, and with only three tables and not enough seats. It was not fair to all of the people who came and paid good money for this class. One member of our party is also gluten free. When we booked the class we told the instructor about this issue. She said when our party finishes paying for the class on line, to remind her about our Gluten person and they will have Gluten free flour for that class. Our Gluten free person also sent a reminder to the owner. When we arrived and asked if she had the Gluten free flour with her, she said she forgot to bring it. She did say she would call someone and hopefully they could drop it off. We unfortunately decided to leave. Fortunately she agreed to reimbursement each of us for the class, but she never offered to reimburse us for the Uber or reschedule the class to another day. Very disappointed.
I will not return in the future

Maryann is funny, engaging, and knowledgeable. Her biscuits are great. However, the ad says the class caps at 15. There were 19 in our class and it was cramped. You have to share bowls with someone you came with and so not everyone gets to make their own biscuits. For the price to attend and the minimal cost of the materials, this is ridiculous. When you pay to make biscuits, you want to MAKE biscuits! Also, the ad says, “come hungry” and the class starts at noon. That gives one the impression that this can be lunch. No. You get a cinnamon biscuit that could be eaten in one bite and another biscuit with gravy that is bigger for sure, but still small. This is a snack, to be clear. My guests left asking to go eat immediately at 2 something when class was over. I know the ad doesn’t say it includes lunch, but it’s misleading to say “come hungry” with a lunch time start. The guys in our group didn’t attend and ate at noon so for dinner we were hungry at different times. Just wanted to share to prevent others from having the same experience. Just so you know, your biscuits go on a tray with other people’s biscuits and it’s a little nerve wracking as you hope you get your own back so you can tell how you did. I believe we did get ours back, but for the price, I think she could invest in some small trays so you know you’re getting yours back. She was also out of several items in her “store,” so you would have to order if you wanted some things, like flour. Lastly, bottled water provided as your drink was a half bottle of water. Again, for the price, I want a whole bottle of water. She is lovely. She is knowledgeable. I just think the price is high for what you get and the ad is a little misleading.

Hey now.. i don't mislead people or make them thrist to death in my class. ha!. never! To clarify, there is plenty of bottled water in my stockroom I didn't realize it ran out where i keep it out in class. I'd glady had gotten you some more. I often get the smaller bottles simply because they're easier for me to lift into my grocery cart. Those larger bottles in a 35 pack are so heavy. My class size is not promised or set in stone.. and many times it can be 6,10, 12 15. up to 19 . I never know and enjoy them all. But the larger classes are more fun. Everyuone laughs and getss to know each other.. we have a blast. Photos of my class are prominent on my website and honestly depicts class in action. I consider all my students as company sitting in my bicuit kitchen....and i'm glad you came and learned how to bake a Southern biscuit.

I am from the South and have never taken the time to actually make homemade biscuits from scratch!! After taking this fun-filled class with Maryann - I will not be using canned biscuits again. We had so much fun and I learned several cooking tips that I will continue to use. My daughter (14 years old) took the class with me and we made biscuits the next day after taking the class. They were delicious !! Maryann is a fun teacher and you can tell she truly enjoys sharing her knowledge with her students on how to make the best biscuits. You will impress your friends and family when you pull these out of the oven! I want to take her HOT chicken class next with my husband, Great event for friends, family events, and work groups.

My teenage daughter and I had the privilege of taking a biscuit making class from Maryann Byrd on. She is a delightful instructor who shares tips while demonstrating how to master the perfect Southern biscuit. Her bubbly personality, friendliness and Southern charm make you feel right at home. I love Maryann’s passion for teaching others the art of biscuit making and creating family memories, who doesn’t love an incredible biscuit from mom? What a special memory she helped create for my daughter and me in the biscuit class. We enjoyed the hands on experience and the tasting too! My daughter loved this class so much that she woke up early the next morning to make biscuits by herself for the family. I am looking forward to more homemade biscuits in my home thanks to Maryann.

A Nashville MUST!! This was much more than just making biscuits! Maryanne welcomed us with true Southern Hospitality and taught us so much about the history and importance of biscuits in the culture- her passion and love for this shines through. We ate sooo much delicious food (biscuits, gravy) and then got to make our own.

Cannot recommend this enough! Wonderful experience!

Booked for my trip to Nashville to visit my sister. Myself, my friend and my sister enjoyed her class. Very interesting tips on making biscuits and nice items to buy too. As stated in some of other reviews that it us at Noon make sure to eat before hand because you get 2 biscuits to eat with gravy. Maryann was an excellent host and definitely her cooking area is small but cozy. Chairs are not real comfortable to sit in for long periods of time.
Wish pricing was a bit cheaper

I'm so glad your sister friend and you enjoyed the class. I love seeing people bond over biscuit baking. It is a lot of fun for me too. However, I disagree with you. I would advise people NOT to eat before they come.. I serve Biscuits and gravy...and a second biscuit.. which switches up. One may end up stuffed if they ate before and it would take some of the fun out your Southern Biscuit experience. Not only that.. you also, you take your batch of biscuits with you when you leave. It is a lot of food. As for the price of my class? It is in line with most activities in Nashville and I do have exceptional credentials in Southern Biscuit expertise. As a side note; when anyone books on another platform besides the first party platform. ie; a businesses dedicated website, they will always pay more because fees are charged.
