Whether you choose to walk, jog, run or ride, you will thoroughly enjoy the beautiful tranquil ever changing surroundings. You can drive to a location on the trail park your car and choose how long or far you wish to walk all depending on your timing. If you are able to fish off a bridge or have a picnic along... More

The Bass Coast Rail Trail is a wonderful way to enjoy a day in the sun. It's close to Wonthaggi but just off the beaten track enough to feel like the bush. Perfect for walking or riding.

This track is very flat and well maintained. I've walked from Anderson to Wonthaggi, about 16km, and it was ok. Probably more enjoyable to bike ride it instead as I can be a little boring. There are better walks in the area if you are looking for beautiful views, like George bass coast walk. However this is probably more family... More

One of the best rail trails in the state. Which takes in the stunning beauty of Bass Strait. We do this walk often with our dog. Very easy walk.

I walk this track regularly. The section heading from Mouth of Powlett Rd to Kilcunda has absolutely stunning views of the water. There is one section on the Dalyston side of Mouth of Powlett Rd that I have seen flooded several times but it is usually still passable. Snakes are fairly common on the trail in spring. Mosquitos and other... More

50km return trip, great ride through scenic country including farmlands, coastal views through Kilcunda, rolling hills, wildlife, and views into San Remo. At Anderson roundabout a short leg on main road and also another short stint on road coming into San Remo. Some challenging hills from Anderson to San Remo but the downhills liberating and worth the ride. Kilcunda great... More

Take a leaisurely stroll along the trail with friends or your pets and enjoy the sunshine. Whether it's summer or winter there's birds and possibly grey kangaroos to see in the mornings.

Wow was a fantastic time of the day to do it. The pathway is very wide, comfortable to ride on or walk on. There is scenery to look at, bridges to cross, rivers to see people fishing and lots of cattle in paddocks.. At the end of the ride is a coffee shop which was to far for us..We came close. A... More

A colleague is trying to get me fit and suggested bike riding. Although we were there on a very hot day, it was a good ride. Make sure you have plenty of water and a snack. Eating in Wonthaggi gives plenty of options too.
