We visited February and drove from Healsville. Part of the drive was through a narrow gravel dusty road. We were driving slow because it is winding and there might be cars coming. There was one and we had to stop and let the small car pass slowly. At the Y intersection, the road is good and asphalt again until to... More

We were staying at Warbuton and planned to visit Mount Donna Buang to experience the snow as it was close and free entry. My fiance had never experienced snow before so I arranged this for his birthday getaway. We were so exciting and Mt Bonna Buang did not dissapoint. At first I was concerned about the road being unsealed, if... More

We loved our drive from Healsville along the Don Road (VERY narrow windy dirt track) to the summit and back to Warburton, We didn't see another vehicle on the very narrow bit so thoroughly enjoyed the drive through towering mountain ash and tree ferns. At the summit, Russ climbed to the top of the tower, I got about 2/3rds of... More

Our family has been visiting mount donna buang for over 20 years and seen some great improvement and changes. Great for sight seeing snow for young families, no real ski areas but lots of play and small toboggan runs. During summer and good weather there are bbqs and areas to play also huts for fires in the cold weather. I... More

Mt Donna Buang is an enjoyable, albeit windy, drive from Warburton and makes for a nice half-day summer excursion. As you approach hairpin bends on the drive up to the summit, astonishing cathedrals of mountain ash emerge from the beautiful fernery below, making for a true highlight. At the summit, there are things for the kids to discover: a towering... More

We drove up to see the view. Climbed the summit tower and was blown away with this amazing view. We don't like the snow so glad we came now.

A nice drive up the hill on the winding road. A good drive with lots of nice bends and glimpse of some views. The road surface conditions are good and sealed all the way to the top. Stop half way up on the left (a big car park)and fill you bottles with free spring water. The council have put in... More

I love great roads and the road from Warby to Donna Buang is a pearler. Once you arrive at the top, being summer, one doesn't expect any snow! A decent 126 step climb takes you to the top of the viewing tower where the views are brilliant. It's a must do when in the area, particularly if you are a... More

We visited in Summer -- this would be a totally different experience in Wintertime as there could be snow and ice near the summit. The drive to the summit is tortuous and twisty with skidmarks to witness where over-enthusiastic drivers have "over-cooked it"! Once you get to the top, it's worthwhile climbing the observation tower (which is closed at night)... More

If you're up for a challenge you should do the hike from Warburton to the summit of Donna Buang. My Dad and I did the round trip in about 6 hours with a rest stop for lunch (we bought some salad rolls from the bakery in town) (you'll need at least a litre of water per person) (oh, and there...
