This is a great place to take the kids. The Gnome & fairy hunt keeps the kids amused for hours. The cafe has a great range of food, whether its just for a snack or for a meal.

If you love your gardens, this is a must go to. The gardens are amazing.

The only suggestion I would have is to the a seat for the parents to sit on while the kids play on the play equipment.

This place we found in passing. Glad we stopped in. The kids had a fantastic day running through all the mazes. And also looking for all the knomes and fairies in a scavenger hunt through the park. Even the rain couldn't keep us away

We had a gorgeous walk around the gardens today. Every turn had something new to discover. My in laws and four year old loved it. She loved searching for the gnomes although two were missing. Lovely lunch at the cafe. Burger was tall and yum! Iced coffee needed more coffee!
The lavender shortbread is a must try. Close to nice wineries too. Great if you have god small ideas app. One free entry for adults.

Visited the Ashcombe Maze iwhich we enjoyed. A more tradional maze and lovely gardens. Our older children still enjoy the mazes and it was lovely looking around the gardens. Favourite garden was the rock garden with the water features.
Certainly value for money and a great way to spend a couple of hours

First off, if you have babies and are taking a pram don't bother coming here. There seemed to be no access for pram users, or wheelchair for that matter, and if there was we weren't showed where it was. Consequently we had to carry our pram down the stairs. Being Winter, the rose maze was non existent and the lavender 'labyrinth' was nothing to get excited about. On some of the pathways we had to use alternate routes because the pram would not fit. There is a fairy garden which consisted of basically a purple door that lead into a bunch of trees, no flowers or anything except a painted board that you could place your head into for a photo. Lastly we decided to give the hedge maze a go. Once again, if you have a pram, don't bother! We could barely fit through and our pram is by no means wider than any others! It would have been nice if one of the staff members had pointed out to us that we may not be able to fully enjoy this place because it wasn't accessible with prams. At $18.50 an adult, I expected a lot more from this place! Perhaps in Winter they could discount the price as a lot of it is not flowering and it looked a little unkempt and run down. Will definitely not be coming back here.

Winter at the Maze is different from summer but still magic. The roses are hibernating and getting ready to burst into spring blooms. The Hedge Mazes are 45 years old; cypress macrocarpa don't stop growing so unfortunately the pathways inside the maze are getting narrower so it is difficult to get prams through. We are growing new plants at the moment to replace some sections of the maze. There is a ramp for wheelchairs and prams - please ask if we forget to tell you!

Last weekend my boyfriend's family and I went on a holiday to Melbourne. We decided to also visit the maze because my boyfriend's brother is a big fan. After quite a long drive (more than an hour) we were all excited to arrive at the maze but unfortunately the welcome wasn't very warm. My boyfriend's mum tried to engage the dark-haired staff member at the entrance in a friendly conversation but she cut her off and just told her that it was $87.5 for 5 adults. In the meantime, my boyfriend and I went onto the veranda and the dark-haired woman made it very clear that once we set one foot on the grounds of the gardens we have to pay the entry fee.
My boyfriend and I were very surprised about her behaviour and decided not to join the other three to go into the maze. We didn't even want to stay there for coffee or tea and drove somewhere else.
After we had left, the three went into the maze but after about 5 mins the dark-haired woman shouted after them: "I know that there are 5 people in there but just 3 of you have paid. Come out now and pay for the other 2 people!" My boyfriend's mum explained that we had left but she didn't want to believe her.
When they left, the dark-haired woman could see that it was just the 3 of them but she wouldn't even apologize.

I think this behaviour is just unaccaptable and it's a pity that just one staff member can spoil the whole experience!

We were group of 15 european tourists 7 of us paid to go through the maze while the rest of us wanted to enjoy a coffee and a chat......After purchasing ice creams coffee and drinks we got RUDELY interrupted and ordered to immediately pay for 3 guests that just sat on a bench outside for a pic WARNING do not even breathe the air outside the coffee shop u will be charged seriously not worth the effort. Owners and staff have NO people skills seriously shouldn't be in this industry

One maze was open the other was closed and the fee was still a ridiculous $18.50. It took 3 minutes to walk through the maze and about 15 minutes to walk the entire grounds. The staff were ridiculously rude and miserable. The food was abysmal. Do not waste your money on this dull place.

I am a bit disappointed with the place. Entrance fee is AUD18.50 (thereabouts) and there was nothing special about the place. It was lovely to see lavender fields but do not expect acres and acres of it. The maze was a bit fun. Lavender ice cream is a must try.

Other than that, there's nothing really special about the place.
