We want everyone who visits to have a moment out of the ordinary. This philosophy extends to everything we do. A warm welcome. Finely crafted wine. Food that feeds the senses and the soul. Our chef's hat rated restaurant. A beautiful and bountiful property growing grapes, olives, fresh produce. A diverse and engaging setting for sculpture. We hope you love our little piece of paradise as much as we do.

Beautiful Food, but Pricey

To put it quite simply this would have to be the best whole experience on the Mornington Peninsula. The booking process was effortless, function coordinator was so helpful, nothing was too hard and all my requests were met. The night it self was memorable. I've never sat at a table of 18 in a private room and felt like I... More

I wanted to book lunch for my parents 60th Wedding Anniversary. There was 18 of us which included 2 children and 4 young adults. We were not allowed to book in the restaurant, and had to book in a room reserved for special functions which has a minimum spend of $2500.. which doesn't include drinks. This equates to $138 p/p... The food and wine at Montalto was amazing, only problem was the entree was tiny, a few mouthfuls and it was gone, and for the price I felt a little ripped off. All the meals in our group for main course were delicious, and a decent size! The grounds are spectacular during the day, so one improvement would be have... More

Came here with my godparents after flying in internationally. We had some white wine and a selection on food. Can hands down say it's some of the best food I've had. We had the pumpkin and cheese on bread, the potatoes were incredible, and the squid too. It makes it even more special with the views of the vines along... More

The food is fine but it is not worth the nearly two hour wait. There are just not enough staff for good service (not their fault, they are working as hard as they can), and the food took over an hour. It is not possible to make bookings. They don't do anything to control large drunk groups affecting other diners... More

We have been coming to Montalto for more than 12 years and were really disapppointed with the welcome we received today at the piazza. We dropped in for a glass of wine and a quick bite to eat at 3.30pm this afternoon and were told that vacant tables were booked. When we spoke to the manager we were told it... More

We were served by Jess at the wine tasting. Cannot recommend her higher. She was incredibly accommodating and very informative. Can't wait to come back!

Montalto is a professional organization and knows how to run a wine and restaurant business. The Cellar Door is typical and is well run and friendly and as good as it gets on the Mornington Peninsula.

Couples, friends or families, everyone can enjoy the experience. The wine tasting is awesome, nice selection and good advice. The restaurant offers a good service a menu based on seasons and what they grow in the garden. If you prefers something different, try the picnic bucket in the vineyard. Before leaving, don't forget to have a walk around in the... More
