Family friendly beach

Small but picturesque little beach at the mouth of port Phillip. Careful not to venture out too far and watch the children

There is ample free parking on the side of the road adjacent to the beach. We watched the ocean, which is quite angry a long way off shore. There are tables and chairs and one can picnic quite easily. If you fancy eating at a restaurant, there are a few in the area, which we did not try but look... More

Point Lonsdale has a beautiful beach that gets a nice easy surf break good for beginners when its not howling. The beach is sheltered from the prevailing southerly which can get very uncomfortable. We finally visited in good weather which made a huge difference. Nice rock pools to swim out of current as well. Nice shops and cafes along with... More

Excellent beach access, with kids playground on the foreshore , PointLonsdale is definitely family friendly. The main street is a touch busy in peak times, but not jam packed like Lorne or Ocean Grove. The sealed beachside walking track goes for a few kms, perfect for exercisers, holiday amblers, dog walkers, prams, kids on bikes & regular cyclists. The shared... More

High tide, low tide - so many rocks, rock pools and great vantages. Crawl under the pier, parkour across the rocks - Just fun!

located on the Port Phillip Bay side of Point Lonsdale this is a very pleasant beach sitting below high cliffs and is therefore protected from the prevailing south and west winds. Take a stroll along the beach back to Queenscliif and take in the Rip and the Point Nepean on the opposite side of the bay. above the beach is... More

A fantastic beach where the kids can play and explore. When the winds are strong, often the beach by the shops are sheltered. A great playground also. Lots of fun here

We have walked this beach on many occasions and never get tired of of the spectacular views, rock pools and formations that attract all ages to climb on. You do have to be aware that at high tide the water does cut off the beach access. Take time to get a close look under the pier, it's an amazing structure.
