I’m Swiss Italian and I was excited to discover the Michelini website which promised a boutique, Italian family-owned vineyard in Myrtleford with interesting Italian varieties. Unfortunately we were left underwhelmed by our tasting experience. As soon as we stepped into the tasting room, we were greeted by cheesy pop music. We were served a selection of whites, but because they were served at near freezing temperature, they all tasted the same. When I asked a simple question about the wine, the person serving said that they weren’t sure as they had only been working there for 2 years !?! The tasting was $10 pp. I don’t mind paying for wine tastings but I expect a better experience. There are some other options in the area that provide this.

Walked in here mid afternoon and found we were the first people tasting for the day. Given how convenient the cellar door is and the quality of the wines that was a surprise. The young lady serving was both very knowledgeable and helpful. Tried a number of reds, whites and sparkling. I was not the designated driver. All our group were impressed. Varieties are basically Northern Italian so don't go looking for Shiraz and Cabernet. I found the Sangiovese and Merlot in the Reds and Vermentino, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc in the whites to be excellent. Sparkling Merlot, Pinot Chardonnay and the Demon Rigde Special Cuvée. We're the pick of the sparkling. Well worth a stop and will certainly return.

We were greeted by a very friendly young lady who was most informative on all wines available to taste & for sale. We really stopped to purchase some Grigio which we had done some 6 months earlier, but checked out the reds as well. Our hostess was very pleasant & most knowledgeable, sorry but not sure of her name, but Chad at Feathertop could learn a lot from her on manners. We did get our dozen Grigio plus some reds. Ample off road parking.
