Compass have bounced back from covid with a vengeance. The June 2022 Alaska expedition was a wonderful experience never to be forgotten. Compass leave no stone unturned with their preparation and execution. Jerry and Bayne’s experience helped meld a gathering of strangers into a close knit group of life long friends with shared memories of an incredible journey.
This was my 3rd time travelling with Compass and already contemplating a fourth.

My third trip with Compass and once again they provided a fun and extraordinary experience with their Ultimate Africa 2023 tour. Excellent organisation for all aspects of getting a group of bikers around Africa, which is a challenge on all fronts. Just rejigging the tour from a straight line trip north and into a sort of figure 8 in the southern portion of the continent, could not have been easy, but they did it.

The guides Bayne and Felix, were tireless and just great to have there at all times to support our journey. They rose to the challenge of getting pre-planned events to actually happen in an environment that was constantly frustrating. They provided assistance to ailing bikers and broken bikes, guidance on the hard technical sections, and were there to celebrate with a beer when we finally arrived at the hotel.

Accommodation was as good as could be found all along the route. The route itself ranged from easy sealed roads, to endless corrugations and tricky sand. Everything that is expected in an adventure bike trip. Compass do this kind of trip really really well. Everything they say in the brochures is true!!

So if you want to see some wonderful scenery and iconic wild animals out on the wild Serengeti plains, hear hippos grunting in the river, admire gorillas close up in the jungle, along with making some good friends and riding lots of km's on hugely scenic and varying roads, come ride with Compass.

I did the 21 day Portugal, Spain and Morocco trip, It was incredible. The accom and meals were first class and the roads we travelled were some of the best in the world. The ride leader and backup crew who looked after us went out of their way to make this trip one to remember. I rode with a great bunch of people and saw lots of incredible cities and sights along the way, my bike was a late model BMW and ran like a dream. The ride leader Felix was fantastic and actually made this ride something that i will never forget. Thanks Compass .....

We signed up for a Compass Expeditions tour to Patagonia because some friends had done a couple of tours to Mongolia and South America with them in the past.
Our freinds organised a third tour and invited myself and my wife along.
Compass Expeditions were fantastic to deal with. Helpful, informative, well organised and the guides in South America were great company.
The guides couldn't do enough for us. Always there to answer questions, fix problems, interpret and all with great patience and humour. They really made the trip a great experience. Would we recommend others do a Compass Tour? Absolutely.
Compass are a professional outfit with a great culture. Highly recomend them.

I'm 63 years old and have traveled to numerous countries. I've gone on two Compass Exepition tours. Argentina/Chile and just returned from Portugal, Morrocco, and Spain. The best experience of my life. Thanks to Jerry, Fiz, and Antonio for the wow factor. Good guides are critical when taking on such an adventure with tourists who may have different expectations. Jerry and the team are always open to suggestions. I intend to take a Compass tour every year until I become blind or disabled. The cost is worth every cent. The hotels are luxurious, when available because there has to have a garage for the bikes. The tents we stayed at in the Sahara were comparable to the Four Seasons. Dinners were a culinary experience. I cannot express enough my gratitude to Jerry, Fiz and Antonio. I also want to thank my fellow travelers.

Touring New Zealand on a Harley Davidson motorcycle (adventure bike for others) was a bucket list trip for us. We did it with Compass Expedions and it was as great as we expected. Our tour guides were good leaders and the accommodations were excellent. We plan to ride with Compass again very soon.

Another trip of a lifetime with Compass! Almost everything was perfect. Nothing is too much trouble. The guides worked endlessly to make everything seamless and great fun, even with a severe earthquake shaking up the plan! The route and the tours were excellent, the motels were fabulous, the food was amazing. Highly recommended!

I have joint their tour of Patagonia by the end of 2013.

They made us sign many papers and empty credit card order.

They have charged usd 1000 to my credit card without my approval and information while i am in the tour for a cosmetic scratch on the motorcyce's exhaust line.

They say that they have replaced with new one which is a big lie.

If they had replaced with a new one, they should have given the old one to me!!!

DON'T TRUST THE COMPANY AND THE TOUR.

As for the tour, the route is fine but the organisation is totally disaster.

The guide is not capable of managing the tour. He rides fast on the gravel without looking behind.

We have lost one day; we had to ride in cold and at night because the wrong decisions of the guide.

Be carefull.

We would like to take the opportunity to respond to "L" who took part on our December Patagonia Explorer tour. We do appreciate having feedback from clients and accept criticism where it is due but we would also like to point out that the vast majority of riders and pillions who take part in our tours have a wonderful experience and our number of repeat customers is very high. On the occasions when the feedback is negative it inevitably stems from charges connected with damage to a motorcycle due to a fall or crash. We provide excellent quality BMW F700 GS motorcycles for our tours in South America and in this instance the bikes were only on their second tour. The motorcycles provided were in pristine condition. It is hoped that at the completion of a tour the motorcycles are returned in a similar condition. Wear and tear we accept as stone damage for example does happen during journeys of this nature and in these instances there are no charges. Dropping or crashing of a motorcycle is a different story. The reality is that for any rental vehicle (a car for example) that is returned with dents in the panels or scratches due to an incident you would expect to pay for damages. The same is true for a motorcycle during a tour. In this instance "L" did drop our motorcycle causing damage to the motorcycle’s exhaust, barkbuster (hand guard protection) and also the gearshift lever. The cost of this damage exceeded the amount "L" was required to pay for due to the fact that he had taken our excess reduction policy. We certainly don’t profit from clients damaging the motorcycles, as parts are extremely expensive and difficult to obtain in South America. We take pride in providing low mileage motorcycles in excellent condition for use during our tours and we work to keep our motorcycles in the best condition possible. All clients who take part in one of our tours are provided with a paper copy of our tour terms and conditions upon arrival and these are the same Ts& Cs that are agreed upon when clients register for a tour and book through our website. In addition to this, clients are informed they are required to leave a signed security deposit in case of damage to the motorcycle in the form of a credit card guarantee and this amount is either the pre-advised $4000 or in the case of "L", who took out the Excess Reduction Policy, a security Bond agreement of $1000. This is no different to any rental vehicle. All of these documents were signed and accepted by "L" prior to the tour starting. We accept that "L" in this instance is angry that charges were required to repair damage done to the motorcycle. Often we are required to pay to repair the additional damage over and above the costs of the security deposit paid by a client. We accept the nature of the business and we do our best to provide top quality tours on the best motorcycles. Unfortunately though, it is hard to accept sometimes that damages to motorcycles incur costs and that is why we try and outline these issues as clearly as possible at various points throughout our website. The good news is that the vast majority of people who travel with us do not cause damage, or if they do cause damage, accept that and the payment of the damages is a simple and relatively painless process. We wish "L" the best for the future and hope that in addition to the e-mails already exchanged with him that some understanding and closure can come of this.

I have now completed 3 motorbike tours with Compass Expeditions. In 2015 I completed the Cairo to Cape Town trip through Africa. 2017 South America through Peru, Chile and Bolivia. And last year 2018 the infamous Road of Bones.

What exceptional journeys and experiences. I have become friends with so many people from these trip from around the world, and we still remain in touch. What experiences to travel all the way through Africa, Russia, Siberia, the 'stans, Europe and the special South American countries.

Compass Expeditions really made these trips work. The exceptional planning, the organisation, accommodation and the back-up from support vehicles and numerous staff on every trip. It was everything promised and I felt completely safe on these journeys.

I will continue to do more of these trips while I can, and all I can say is - WHAT A FANTASTIC WAY TO SEE THE WORLD!
