Gardens and parks.

Heidelberg Park has a bit of everything for those who like the green spaces. Lovely maintained gardens opening into a rather large parkland beyond. Things to see and places for the kids to roam.

Quite a Large Park
Feb 2020
Has a lovely garden at the entance, but expands into a much larger park. Quite pleasant and lots of things to do. Runs alongside the river as well. The road gets busy, but there is plenty of space.

Country park in suburbia
Feb 2020
Growing up in Heidelberg, I have many happy memories of Heidelberg Park. As a child, it had a small playground with swings and interesting fallen pine trees to climb on. The play equipment is gone and a playground has been put in across the road. Nonetheless, Heidelberg Park is still a very pleasant place to visit between its lush green lawns, a walking/cyclist track, a cricket oval and a wealth of greenery. Recently, I revisited Heidelberg Park with friends who live locally and have young kids. We spread a picnic blanket beneath the lush green pine canopies to decompress after lunch. When sitting under these canopies, a strong pine smell eminates bringing back great memories of childhood.

Park is amazing and very scenic. It has some great playground equipment and is always really well maintained. Feels like somewhere you wouldn’t get being in the suburbs... amazing highly recommend

Small well presented park

Godo for a summers day, not the largest park in the world but well kept, and contoured terrain make it a little more interesting.

Park AND Gardens
Aug 2018 • Solo
Heidelberg Park has sporting ovals, while Heidelberg Gardens has the forested area closer to the main roads. The trees in the Gardens are old and give a lot of shade, while in the Park there is a huge playground with picnic facilities and BBQs. Both are great for a visit.

Green oasis.
Oct 2017 • Friends
After you peel yourself off of Rosanna road which is one of the worst roads in Melbourne you get to this little green oasis. A nice rotunda or grass to spread a blanket for whatever you wish. A bit public for any thing but food & you can follow that up with a walk along the creek.

Good Heidelbert Artist views
Sep 2016 • Solo
I have lived in Heidelberg for many years and frequently walk through this park. There are some really nice trees and strategically placed seating for nice views and a Rotunda. It is quite a nice park for wedding photos and there is a pair of trees that have intertwined trunks for a unique photo opportunity. A small creek runs through the park. As a professional gardener I think there is a lot of room for improvement of this park but I suppose it all depends on funding. There are two football clubs one of which has BBQ facilities and there is a cool fenced in playground for the kids. Handy to Burgundy St. shops.

Conifers set the mood
Aug 2016 • Solo
I am an admirer of the big old cold-climate trees in Heidelberg. This park and the land closer to the river form an excellent area for seeing quite a few. The park's Rotunda is popular for weddings and other ceremonies. (Consult the Council in advance for permission.) It has a wooden floor and is simple rather than plushy and ornate.

Nice park with rotunda
Aug 2016 • Family
Nice park to escape from busy Heidelberg. I park at darebin st only bcos I love walking amongst big trees there. There is a larger park on burgundy/Beverly rd at cricket/football ground. That's also where toilets are located. Features a lot of great bushland. Also a lot of different sport facilities. The rotunda is a popular spot for photos. Near the footy/cricket ground is the fantastic possum hollow playground at Warringal park
