This lookout is very easily accessible to all. It is a few steps from the car park and provides expansive views across the Grampians. There are no facilities here, eg. toilets, water. To the right, there is an asphalt road up to the Reeds Fire Lookout. There is a barrier at the base to prevent cars from driving up. It is a fairly steep walk, but short, and the views are equally spectacular. There was a distance/destination dial at the summit indicating peaks, ranges, gaps. Worth the little extra exercise!

Lookout a few steps from car park offers a peaceful and moving natural landscape viewing. Victoria valley and ranges bordering are visually stunning. Facing west this would be ideal to watch sunset.

My friends & I visited Reed Lookout & The Balcony of Mount Grampians. Able to drive up & Reed Lookout is just at the carpark area. The Balcony you need to walk about 1km in which is worth the walk. If you go Melbourne, can give yourself a treat to this place of adventure.

My wife and I visited this place during our recent holiday in Grampians where we stayed for 3 nights in a holiday Villa.

This lookout is next to the carpark for the Balconies, which is the main attraction for this location, where the views are better.

At this lookout, there is a Tower nearby, around 100 metres walk, that also has nice views.

We have been here a few times over the years.

The views from Reed's Lookout definitely deserve a five, but the accessibility barely a three, as to get to the two wooden platforms overlooking the view, you first have to traverse uneven, rocks, which in places are quite steepish.
While I prefer a natural setting wherever possible, and there were handrails to hold onto, it was in stark contrast to Boroka Lookout, which caters for all levels of mobility. Perhaps it’s “in the pipeline” to be done - I do hope so!

The lookout is right at the carpark, so you can still get some great views even if the 1km walk to the balconies is not for you. There is nothing else at the car park other than the 2 reed lookouts. Nearest toilets are at McKenzie falls

Just after Easter holidays, we went to Halls Gap for a night camp. The entire family loved the trip. If you have only a few hours then here is your itinerary:

First go to McKenzie falls: It will take you 40 minutes round trip from car park down to the falls. Man-made path and steps, but make sure you look after your kids, while on the path as well when crossing the rocks.

Then go to the Reid lookouts and quick walk to Balconies: It will only take you 30 mins maximum and views are stunning, we would be able to see the giant crocodile! just kidding, the rocks are shaped as if it was a giant crocodile!

Once done the Reid lookout, on your way back, go to the wonderland lookout. Go down to see the splitter falls, although there is no water fall but going down is fun. Not suitable for very young kids as the path is mostly natural and rocky. It would take you maximum of 40 mins.

In total, within 3 hours, you would see the best of Grampians!

Highly accessible compared to the balconies. If you can’t walk, just come to the reed lookout. Basically very similar views. Would recommend.

This is an easy walk with great views overlooking the Victoria Valley. Follow the path around the gate and along the sealed road to the summit of Reeds Lookout. From this magnificent lookout you will receive breathtaking views over Victoria Valley, Victoria Range, Serra Range, Lake Wartook and the Mt Difficult Range.
It is one of the most popular viewing platforms in the area. Great sunrise / sunset views here.
There are also some Indigenous rock art sites within the park’s vicinity.
If you have kids, they'll be able to reach this Lookout easily - bring a picnic. Watch out for wildlife as well. In Spring the wildflowers are stunning.
It's a 100m return from the carpark and easy to walk.
Not wheelchair friendly but is kid friendly.

A nice, easy to reach lookout that's a short walk from the car park. Some very pretty views although I think the views from The Pinnacle & Boroka Lookout are far better. If you're in the area it's still worth a look though.
