The NED KELLY MUSEUM is part of KATE'S COTTAGE GIFTS SOUVENIRS MUSEUM & replica of the KELLY HOMESTEAD. Step through back of shop to the NED KELLY MUSEUM and an authentic replica of the Kelly Homestead... like the words of the song ... truly the "ramshackle hut" . Excellent historic coverage of the Kelly era. Rated 'The Best Ned Kelly Museum" by Getaway and featured on their show at least three times.

Somehow this one business has two separate listing for TripAdvisor reviews. Would you kindly take the time to review both KATE'S COTTAGE and the NED KELLY MUSEUM ? Thanks to all travellers who took the time to review us.

The museum was small, but was packed with so much historical information about Ned Kelly and his family. The artifacts and pictures and reading information was fabulous. We enjoyed walking through the Kelly family cottage replica. My children loved the white cockatoo. This museum is well worth your time to see into the past of Ned Kelly, the gang and... More

Thank you for taking the time to review us. I'm afraid to say but the cockatoos are the stars ... year after year people come back to talk to them. Howard was there when we bought the business 31 years ago but Dorothy is Dorothy 11. I don't like having birds caged but they would die in the wild if... More

Glad that you enjoyed our display. Some visitors are in and out in 15 minutes and others are there for an hour or more and come back again. The story of Ned Kelly and the history of Glenrowan is amazing and I never grow tired of the family stories that people have of their connection to the Kelly story. Thank... More

Really not that interesting, worth a look if you are there but not a must see. I found the seige site walk more interesting.

Sorry Maria. What is that saying "horses for courses" ? Some people spend an hour or more in the museum and others five minutes. As you can see from our reviews and our Certificate of Excellence 2016 that most people really enjoy our display. I am sorry that you were not one of them. I didn't quite get your heading... More

Well worth $14 for 2 adults and 2 children (9 & 10). Children enjoyed reading about Ned Kelly's life events as learning about Ned Kelly at school. The replica Kelly cottage great as shows how tough it was for people living in the late 1800's.

Thank you. Glad that you and your family enjoyed your visit. They were tough and very sad times especially for the likes of the Kelly family. It is great to see kids interested in our origins. Understanding the history helps us to understand ourselves and how we have evolved as Aussies...and that will keep changing. I think that the thing... More

The replica Kelly Cottage was really interesting as was the small museum. The resident cockies were funny and the kids loved them. Best of all it was really affordable so we didn't have to think twice about going in which was a nice change. The proprietress was welcoming and friendly and nice to the kids.

You were lucky that you caught me on a good day and that I didn't lock them in the gaol and feed them only bread and water. (not really!!) We have told parents if they leave any kids behind that that will be their fate...or they will have to vacuum clean and feed the cockies. Funny they tend to think... More

Travelled here with my husband, daughter and son in law. What a great museum and so informative on the life and times of Ned Kelly. Well worth the $6 entry fee.

Thank you SO much for taking the time to review us. It is very much appreciated by us and travellers like yourselves. We keep our prices down on the museum and replica of the homestead ( ramshackle hut) to make it affordable for families and school groups. Consequently we have thousands go through a year. Hi Tracy I see that you visited back in January and in the time that has passed maybe mixed us all up. The photos that popped up are our shop and the museum which if full of interesting information and displays but we do not have a theatre show. Maybe you thought that all of the town businesses and displays... More

We stopped and found the Museum extremely interesting. For the Ned Kelly and history buff this place is full of interesting pieces of history and fact relating to the Kelly family and events relating to this period in our history. Well worth the stop.

Thank you. It IS amazing and interesting history. I drew the short straw so worked on Mother's day but was rewarded accordingly. Two couples went through the Museum and Homestead display and were there for over an hour. I asked did they put an entry in the visitors book? They were about to.... amazingly they came from Greta NSW which... More

Decided to day trip to Glenrowan from Rutherglen, great idea. Plenty of free parking, public toilets and friendly locals. This place should be your first stop. Very reasonable admission fee, gives you a self guided to tour of the Kelly family and Kelly Gang history. Our kids aged 9 & 11 years were able to wander and read the displays,... More
