Stunning view on clear days and great to walk around
February: I visited this area twice - once on an overcast and blowy day and the other a sunny day. Both made for different experiences and photographic opportunities. The pier has a carpark near by and walking paths that lead off to different areas. There are also toilets and a playground. Walking along the pier to the end is great and if the tide is out have a wander under the pier - great shots to be had there. [Only posted photos from the first visit, which was overcast]. There are also old relics from boat ramps along the beach worth a look. There are some signs around with historical facts which are also interesting to read. The beach there itself is full of seaweed, but walkable. Worth a look and a wander around to the lookouts nearby and of course the main city centre. [When the current situation is over, of course]. *This was before the COVID-19 social isolations.

    Great Views
It's been a while since we were here. There is a lengthy concrete pier alongside the old wooden one. Plenty of fishermen dotted along the pier without too many fish being caught. The views across to Phillip Island and the Nobbies are spectacular especially when the surf is running.

Took a few days off to take the wife there.. it’s a great place if you wanna get away from all the city chaos. The views are fantastic and time seems to stop. Definitely a must visit.

My sister and l went to the look out first
The seagulls are so cute fall asleep on the road even blowing the horn would not move them. They move when you drive.
Great views so we went down to the pier
Car park nice rest rooms there. We only walked a short way as it started raining.

My wife and I stopped here for a walk on the pier, on our way to Point Leo Estate vineyard. There was plenty of car parking spots as it was midweek and off peak tourist season.

The walk along the pier has scenic views. The autumn weather was very nice.

I was interested to see weedy sea dragons and Flinders Pier delivered. As a solo traveler wanting to snorkel this was a really convenient spot. There were plenty of other folks around diving and snorkeling, the sea was very calm here, and I saw several sea dragons as well as enormous sting rays and other interesting sea life. The water is very chilly though, even in summer. I had long rash guards on and it was barely enough. It would be even better if they added some facilities like solar heated showers to clean up after a swim.

To find weedy sea dragons walk out to the first swim platform on the left and enter the water there. Snorkel out from there to the right, directly under the longer section of pier, as far as you are comfortable and keep scanning the area. I spotted several as they swam over sandy bottom areas near the grass at the base of the pylons. Be aware of your surroundings as there are stingrays, people fishing off the pier, and small boat traffic around the pier.

Flinders is a nice, fairly quiet, small Victorian seaside town. The pier is said to be good for fishing the beach is rather stony, but there's some great coastal scenery around Flinders.

Be sure to visit the mussels store on a weekend where you can get mussels (go for the laksa). They are fantastic and a beautiful way to take in the surrounds.

Ocean pure - windy, raff and blows your head off (literally). Would be a perfect spot to go fishing and swimming in summer.

First time to Flinders and was blown away by the scenery. Lovely pier and beach and we discovered a sleeping seal on the jetty. Made the kid’s day!
