Conflicted.....great food, bad attitude from an inflexible chef
Feb 2017 • Couples
When taking friends from overseas along the Great Ocean Road, this is our favourite place to stop for breakfast, the view is great and the food is very good. So why only 3 stars? I asked for a side of bacon with my omelette, but was told no changes could be made to predetermined breakfast dishes. But bacon is on the menu as part of another dish, why can't I add it to the omelette I ordered as a side, I asked? Apparently, I was told, the chef won't accept changes. Now, I can understand not accepting whole scale changes, but this was just the addition of a side of bacon. I asked the waitress to ask the chef if he could - please - accommodate my request. He refused. I won't unfairly criticise the food as it was very good, but I will not go back. To be that inflexible in such a competitive industry.........I'd sooner take my business elsewhere.

Nice sea view

Nice pleasant place with a good menu and friendly staff. The sea view is fabulous but you may have to wait a while to get a seat.

Good for breakfast
Apr 2016
Stopped here on a windy Sunday morning for a quick bacon and egg sandwich, great views. Staff were pleasant, food good, had to ask for my hot chocolate to be re heated as it was just aired and no cutlery/ napkins etc on table. Staff should've noticed this when they brought the drinks. If there was a good I would award it

Nice place with sea view and friendly servers
Feb 2016
We asked for a fresh grilled fish. And it was splended. Fresh, not dry, smooth fish with homemade tartare. We've never eaten this better than at this place. I ve eaten a salad. It was very big, although I would prefer more variation because it was almost only salad. There was some advocado on it an croutons. The server was so kind, she helped me to plan our further trip.

Anglesea Deck

The view alone is enough to enjoy, but the menu is also fabulous! The service is friendly and very family friendly, but also suits a quiet coffee with an incredible view!

Views over the surf

Anglesea Life Saving Club deck is a great place for a "Beer O'Clock" snack and pot of ale whilst watching the sets roll in. Superb views, relaxed atmosphere in the club house lounge or on the deck in the sun on a nice day. Worth a look.

Rocked up for dessert ! View is great !
Jan 2015 • Couples
We arrived here for dessert but was told no dessert menu. However, we were not turned a way and were offered a brownie with icecream and strawberries or a couple of other options as well. It was food they would serve as a morning or afternoon tea. Brilliant !!! I love the dessert which was served well. The views are great of the beach below and with both indoor and outdoor seating you cant go wrong.

Great potential
Dec 2014 • Friends
I only rated this as average because of the food. However first I must say the view is absolutely fantastic and one could sit on the deck or inside looking at it for hours. The staff, mainly girls were friendly, efficient and happy in thier job which is always good for the customer.
This is a noisy busy place that whilst layback is a gold mine in the making.
Organising the tables a little better and improving the food would see this place packed every night.
I had the calamari that was obviously out of a packet and a bit chewy, and for a restaurant on the water this surprised me. I will say the waitress came back and advised me it was an entrée and they would include a salad and chips. Well done.
My wife had pulled pork tacos and whilst tasty were a bit of a mess.
Others had the fish and chips and I would think they needed to change thier deep frying oil.
Prices were reasonable and the beer and wine cold.
We will go back and see how it's developing again.
