About
Frequently described as the friendliest golf club on Victoria’s spectacular surf coast Anglesea Golf Club is located just a an hour’s drive from the centre of Melbourne on some of the most beautiful land in the region. Not only is the course famous for its meticulous presentation its also famously home to a colony of the eastern grey kangaroo – hence the club’s logo. The 19th Hole Bistro is the perfect place for you, your family, and friends to relax over a sumptuous meal. This fine dining restaurant comfortably sits between traditional pub food and a five-star fine dining experience by providing a little bit of both in a menu that is as varied as the tastes of its customers.

Lunch at The Golf Club is a choice of grazing plates. A good selection available from $10 - $15 per plate. Great views looking out over the golf course. However the service left a lot to be desired. There were 27 in our group and those who ordered first received their meals quickly, but those who came later waited up to an hour for their meals. Considering they were entree size meals this was very poor. So unless you have plenty of times on your hands, give it a miss.

We booked in advance to see the Roos. Our guide Jeff was a great adviser, who was a mindful of information. We drove really close to the mobs and we allowed to dismount from the golf cart, so we could get some good photos without disturbing them, as these are wild animal who live in harmony with the golfers. The population has incensed recently due to the bush fires. There is plenty of parking and the club house serves food and drink which is the pick up and drop off point for the tour. Fab trip and a must do for wildlife lovers.

We took the tour which was better than we anticipated - the tour guide was very friendly and went out of her way to show us a Joey and lots of adults. It was definitely worth the $12.50 each. We then ate in the club house and had an excellent lunch with a 10% discount because we'd been on the tour. Recommended!

I’d love to say it’s fabulous but I find it very hit and miss.
It’s a fabulous outlook well worth visiting the club it’s well appointed and the bar is well stocked with good brands of wine.
Nice place to grab a wine and just chill.
Kangaroos plenty of them just hanging about.
I would try it again !
maybe my previous visits were just off nights.

We had seen this golf course featured on the Julia Bradbury programme. The course has about 400 Kangeroos which live there. Free to wander off but choosing to stay. You go out on a golf buggy and can get quite close to the Roos. We were lucky to see a roo still carrying it's very large Joey. Our guide Jeff was excellent.

The food outstanding, the service fantastic and always the surroundings serene and beautiful. We go here every year in our last night before going home. This place just gets better and better every year. Amazing dining experience.

We often play mini golf on a family holiday but this was the worst I’ve ever played on. All holes are virtually impossible to keep on the green with most simply rolling out of course or back to the start. It’s either max shots or a hole in one, nothing in between. We were there for almost two hours simply due the amount of shots to complete a hole. Very frustrating and not fun at all.

I know COVID has restrictions but the welcome was less than inviting and not ver accomodating. We were put on a table in the middle of the room when there was a lovely table at the window overlooking the golf course. There was only us as a table if 8 and a table of 2. Service was a lot better and more friendly than the welcome. Menu wasn’t that great so all in all very underwhelming.

Anglesea golf course is good place to stop when you drive the great ocean road even if you are not planning to play. Golf course is just gew kilometers from great ocean road and there is 400 kangaroos living and you can spot hips of them from just parking splots :)

A long weekend in Anglesea in always busy. We tried to get a dessert here but the queue to get in was too long. We have eaten here on many occasions and can never fault the food. The staff are always pleasant and helpful. The pokies were worth a flutter and get a small win was also a bonus. The Kangaroos are a highlight. 300 of them on the course and if you come at dusk you can photograph them near the car park. You are not allowed to enter the course to photograph them but people do this anyway.
