Taking a ferry directly from Circular Quay to Taronga Zoo, located in the suburb of Mosman, is the first unexpected joy of visiting the animal park. Once there, the leisurely trails and opportunity to see some of Australia's distinct wildlife become apparent, as does the striking view of the Harbour Bridge from the seating at the aerial bird show. Advance booking can give you the chance to see koalas up close, or stay overnight and 'camp' in the zoo.

Maybe I was overwhelmed by all the suggestion and reviews. I find this zoo not that big. Animals here are not many and most of them were sleeping when I went there in the afternoon. The seal show which was a must see is not that impressive. It's ok if you want to take a walk around the zoo and... More

If you are thinking wether to go to the wild life zoo in the city or to Taronga zoo-don't hesitate and definitely go to Taronga. It is a big, great zoo, with all kinds of animals-Australian,birds,wild life, sea and an amazing reptile section. Great food court, friendly staff and most importantly,a super easy access by ferry. Best zoo in the world and so many amazing sights. Loved the: Giraffe's feeding with the Opera House in the backdrop. Koala Bear zone which you can watch them eat. Gorilla area - so close and such good pictures taken. Love also the reptile section - very educational about the Australian wildlife. Easy to get to and very interactive when... More

We visited at a very busy time and there was no official parking. However we found free on street parking with in a 10 minute walk to the north and west of the entrance. There is a main walkway around the zoo with themed areas leading off this path. For example we skipped the African area to conserve energy and... More

We've been to many zoos.around the world but this one remains our favourite. Getting there is already a beautiful journey if you take the ferry from Corcular Quay then the skylift all the way up. You then gently make your way down again walking throug the enclosures with a stunning view of the harbour and CBD skyline

Visited with my friends (early 20s) had a good day, seen loads of animals. Loved the cable car. Felt the enclousres for some of the animals were a little small. The zoo gives great views over Sydney- definately a few photo opps. Can be expensive though once the ferry is thrown in!

This was my first visit to Taronga Zoo since I first attended around 10 years ago. This experience certainly did not disappoint. I came with my family and our adventure started with the Ferry ride from Circular Quay, followed by the chairlift into the zoo itself. Great displays, wonderful environment for the animals. The most surprising aspect was the wide... More

We went with my little neice. It was a great day out. Catching the ferry over and enjoying the sights. It was a bit of disappointing weather because it was raining. The food court was good had a high turnover of food but you really do pay for it.
