"Amazing history lesson!"

We visited the Quarantine station while living in Sydney and it was a brilliant way of learning about the settlers and their experiences of arriving here. Even relatively recent... read more

Did the two hour history tour. If you are interested in Australian history or the health industry, this tour was fantastic. Amazing what took place here, and so many don't even know it is here. A little bit of walking with a few hills and stairs so some fitness is required. Take a bottle of water and a camera (even... More

Getting there – the Manly Fast Ferry operates a service direct. Alternatively, it’s ~30 minute walk from the Manly Wharf to the Quarantine Station reception, with the option of a shuttle bus or a further 15 minute walk from there downhill to the station. Having booked our tour online ($35 for 2 hours – a bit pricey – noting there... More

We visited the Quarantine station while living in Sydney and it was a brilliant way of learning about the settlers and their experiences of arriving here. Even relatively recent newcomers had to pass by the station, it was in use until the 60's. We had a really interesting, informative visit and guided tour.

I did the 2 hour tour and this was very interesting and the guide sure did know his stuff and made the tour so interesting. Saw the autopsy room which was very interesting and the area where peoples baggage was disinfected. It was a very hot day and there is a lot of walking involved but the tour is well... More

I booked the two-hour Qurarantine Station day tour, as the ghost tour was going to be far too difficult for me to achieve by public transport. However, I was not disappointed by the quality of the experience. Bob, the friendly guide, was clearly very knowledgeable about the site and the history, and we saw quite a few different buildings around... More

My husband and I took our 10 year old grandson on the 'wharf wander' 45 minute tour at very short notice. We were the only attendees and our guide Sarah asked what we were most interested in. Grandson said diseases, so she focused on that aspect of the station. We had last toured the station in 2006 before the hotel... More

I attended the day tour with a friend on a very wet winters day, yet this didn't stop the tour being very enjoyable. Our guide was Sarah, who's upbeat personality, passion for the subject and knowledge made the tour very enjoyable and memorable. We were provided with a large umbrella, and much of the tour takes you indoors to different... More

This restored Heritage site contains both a museum and boutique hotel at North Head on Sydney Harbour. It is located in Manly which is easily accessed by a 30 minute ferry ride from Circular Quay across the world's most splendid harbour. You will need to preregister for this one hour tour ... mine featured an excellent tour guide who brightened... More

What a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon. An interesting trip back to the early days of Quarantine in Australia, when it was more focused on human diseases. The guide Martin was brilliant, taking us on the journey that many settlers arriving into Sydney by ship experienced. From the inhalation chambers, that cleansed the lungs to the showers with...
