This hidden gem on the Parramatta River is one of those spots that are worth seeking out, for a number of reasons. There is plenty of things to see and do including exploring the old RAN Newington Armaments Depot, the depot loading wharf, the kids play equipment, walk or bike ride the waterfront. If you are feeling peckish there is a cafe and kiosk. There are community BBQs available so a picnic can be one the cards. There is only one negative and that is the park has become a victim of its own success in that parking is limited and on a first come first park basis and no parking outside designated areas. Otherwise it’s a magnificent greenspace and great for the kids.

This park is great to take your family and kids for a bbq or picnic, you can just go with friends as well.. theres room for everyone heaps of tables and public bathrooms with an amazing water front view. The park is very clean, theres a cafe and bike hire place too.. the only down fall is on weekends and school holidays it can be extremely hard to find parking as it gets very busy, my suggestion would be to drop off everything youre taking down with you next to the park side and have someone go set up while you look for parking because you might have to walk 5-8minutes if you park on the outskirts.

This park is great for kids aged 3-8. Could do with some more additions to increase interest for toddlers and older children. Serious lack of parking. The kiosk serves horrible food. Definitely BYO your food and snacks. Park has next to no shade.
