This harbor pool is a excellent example of why Sydney is so great. Yes summer time here can get very busy, so planning your time to visit is best.. Ok I live near by so I am spoiled in this way, but it is 1 place I hope visitors have the option to visit even during cooler months. Head there... More

Essentially a fenced off section of the harbour with beach entry. Big enough to have space on a busy day and to do a decent swim. Pontoon in the middle to sun yourself and places for the kids to jump in. Cafe serve decent coffee too.

we came here with our 4 months old as the waves as small enough for him to not get washed away. there were alot of families enjoying the small bay. we managed to get a parking spot at the council chambers. was just a little tricky for us with the amount of stairs and a baby.

This is a superb beach spot and one not to be missed if you fancy a some swim/seaside action so close to the city. The swimming area is fenced off so you can be sure of no bull sharks getting through! The walk way around the pool and pontoons are lots of fun to jump off. The area is clean... More

Went here on new years day and was expecting it to be rammed. It was busy but not at all crowded. The fenced water is a great option for a safe and enjoyable swim, and the beach is clean. Friendly atmosphere and safe environment. We happily left our stuff on the beach while swimming (not necessarily recommending that, mind). Good... More

This is where we went as kids a couple of generations ago. Guess what ? It's still a divine place A free swimming place very accessible by public transport and all the gentleness of a harbour pool. And a great cafe too. Wonderful for locals and tourists alike . highly recommended

I swam laps at the Murray Rose pool last summer. The water is as clean as the harbour at high tide, sand is very clean, shade is provided by trees at the rear park and a kiosk serves drinks and food. Great for families and easily reached by public transport (buses) the views are sensational. Would be good for tourists and... More

Tidal pool with no lifeguards on duty but safe for children under supervision. If you don't like to lay on the sand there are grass areas with shade. A kiosk is open but not sure what times. The only downside is the dressing rooms which are small and not much water pressure in the showers. Lovely harbour views.

Staying in Double Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Double Bay
Located in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, Double Bay is a one of the city's most beautiful harbor neighborhoods. Designer boutiques provide a decadent shopping experience and dress some of the most beautiful people in Sydney. Sit down at one of the open air cafes for a latte or a meal and enjoy the people-watching. Double Bay was once an exclusive enclave for an older, elite population, but new restaurants, late night bars, hotels and cafés are attracting a younger, vibrant mix, making Double Bay the place to be on the harbor.
