About
The Cronulla Beach Walk follows more than four kilometres of the Shire’s coastline south from Wanda Surf Lifesaving Club to Bass and Flinders Point, where the Hacking River meets the Tasman Sea. The pathway passes stunning beaches, child-friendly rock pools, parks, playgrounds, cafes and period houses interspersed with lavish new homes and apartments overlooking the water. In the morning you’ll see locals out for a run or walk with friends, and swimmers striking out to the yacht buoy or Shark Island. In summer, watch nippers and lifesavers train and enjoy a dip at one of the many beaches along the walk. Everyone is out, from new mums with prams, families and kids on scooters to the stalwarts of Cronulla on their way to the RSL for lunch or a game of bowls. The footsteps on this walk have echoed since the early 1900s when Cronulla Beach was the place for Sydneysiders to holiday, and it remains a popular and social walk.

The walk from Cronulla Beach to the Bass & Flinders lookout is terrific and offers lots of great coastal views as well a couple of well maintained parks and rock pools. But if you set out when the tide is low it is straightforward to make it to a complete Cronulla headland walk, with only a short section being on residential streets. From Darook Park it is easy to access the sand flats and walk all the way back to Gunnamatta Park and the town centre. The sand is firm underfoot and clean (not mud!), and there is plenty of interesting views across Gunnamatta Bay with its birdlife and many moored boats, plus of the 'backyards' of the bayside mansions.

This is such a breathtaking coastal walk and every second of it has stunning views. This is highly recommended to walk if you are in the area, this is only a moderate walk, nothing too strenuous. You will go past different pools and beaches so if it’s a nice day bring your swimmers!

I like walking and the Cronulla Beach Walk is certainly one of my faves. Recently a friend told that there is a new self-guided historical walk 'Cronulla Historical Walk' in the Cya On The Road app which introduced several heritage buildings in Cronulla. I did it on a weekend and it was truly awesome! I have been to Cronulla so many times but didn't know it's actually full of history! Thanks to the walk and the author!

I think it's actually better after sunset than during the day because it is not so crowded. Always a beautiful spot

Highly recommend doing the walk when the tide is low, that way you can include an uninterrupted walk all the way around the South Cronulla peninsula, including through Darook Park and all of Gunnamatta Bay.

Also highly recommend stopping for coffee / lunch at Bianchinis (80 Mitchell’s Rd Cronulla) - an excellent and affordable beachfront cafe.

Gunnamatta Bay and Greenhills Beach are my favourites for peace and unwinding as they tend to be less busy than the more popular South Cronulla / North Cronulla / Eloura / Wanda beaches.

Hadn't been to Cronulla for years, and chose it as our first shirt break after restrictions eased. Perfect plac3vto unwind and lost track of how many times I did this walk over 3 days - soul food is all I can say. Watch the swimmers. surfers, photopgraphers, PLANES arriving in Sydney (albiet only a few a day), stunning views, find great coffee along the way, one of the great coastal walks in the city and a must do visiting Sydney. Everyone needs to connect with the good parts of Old Normal like this!

we walked along from cronulla station up until the sand dunes you maybe need 45 -60 minutes when its busy, you will pass some food shops along the way. there is a viewpoint outlook before you enter the dunes to have a overall look. its really impressive.
