Cronulla Beach Walk

About
The Cronulla Beach Walk follows more than four kilometres of the Shire’s coastline south from Wanda Surf Lifesaving Club to Bass and Flinders Point, where the Hacking River meets the Tasman Sea. The pathway passes stunning beaches, child-friendly rock pools, parks, playgrounds, cafes and period houses interspersed with lavish new homes and apartments overlooking the water. In the morning you’ll see locals out for a run or walk with friends, and swimmers striking out to the yacht buoy or Shark Island. In summer, watch nippers and lifesavers train and enjoy a dip at one of the many beaches along the walk. Everyone is out, from new mums with prams, families and kids on scooters to the stalwarts of Cronulla on their way to the RSL for lunch or a game of bowls. The footsteps on this walk have echoed since the early 1900s when Cronulla Beach was the place for Sydneysiders to holiday, and it remains a popular and social walk.

We arrived in Cronulla with the recommendation from a family member to do the esplanade walk. If you’re staying here, make sure you do it. Ensure you have a good pair of walking shoes, sun cream, sunnies and hat! Give yourself plenty of time to do the whole walk.

One of the most stunning places in the world. Do yourself a favour, give Bondi a wide birth and head on down the Shire instead for a beach walk. Nt it only is it better, you won’t have to rob a bank to pay for parking

Hadn't been to Cronulla for years, and chose it as our first shirt break after restrictions eased. Perfect plac3vto unwind and lost track of how many times I did this walk over 3 days - soul food is all I can say. Watch the swimmers. surfers, photopgraphers, PLANES arriving in Sydney (albiet only a few a day), stunning views, find great coffee along the way, one of the great coastal walks in the city and a must do visiting Sydney. Everyone needs to connect with the good parts of Old Normal like this!

One of the best day activities to do with your family. Had everything. We parked half way at Shelly Beach in a side street. We walked along the boardwalk back towards Cronulla Beach. We stopped on the way at the rock pools where the kids had a play then walked to South Cronulla Beach where we got a coffee and milk shake. The kids then had a play at the beach then the play ground.

We then walked back to Shelly beach where we had a picnic at Shelly Park then a swim in the Beach pool they have there. It started sprinkling so we decided to call it a day.

We took our time with all this. We arrived at 7:15 and left at 1pm. So just short of 6 hours and we didn’t even do the other side of the walk. Another day for sure. Definitely recommend so much to do.

We walking this over Easter and despite it being very busy it’s such a beautiful walk with stunning views of the ocean. There are nice spots to stop at along the way and either sit on the grass or on benches to admire the view and watch all the cute dogs walk past!

There are great walks all along the coast of Australia however to be able to walk in such a cosmopolitan and urban location whilst still feeling like you are a million miles away is unique and the rocks and beaches along the walk are all unique.

Popular with many of the locals this is the exercise trail that starts at dawn and goes on throughout the day. Beautiful ocean views make this the idiotic setting for either full blown exercise or just the gentle stroll. Try it you won't be disappointed.
