Booked as a Christmas present by my mother for myself and husband to have a nice relaxing break. Not what we were expecting at all. We arrived and checked in with a young man who was less than impressed to be at work. He asked us our names, gave us our key, explained where the room was and off we went. No friendly greeting, no information about food or drinks they served and no information about where we went for breakfast in the morning. We stayed in room 4 which was quite small for the price. Room was clean and tidy with nice touches like biscuits and hot chocolate along with the standard coffee and tea. The bed was really high and I’d say if you have trouble your legs, you’d be unable to get on the bed. It was also the hardest bed I have ever slept on. I’ve heard of firm mattresses but this was ridiculous. Really uncomfortable and considered sleeping on the floor at one point. The people above us were so loud, floorboards creaking which is to be expected but it was constant and they were up til the early hours of the morning keeping me awake. At 7am we’re we’re awoken again by the people upstairs getting ready for their day. Every time someone walked down the corridor by our room our bed shook. There was also no lighting by the dressing table so it was hard to see applying make up and drying my hair in the morning. The greeting by the owner in the morning was much friendlier and we had a lovely greeting from their dog who was adorable. Breakfast was ok but nothing special. The hotel is on a main road and just off a roundabout, not as remote as advertised and certainly not in the heart of Snowdonia. We wouldn’t stay again.

We eat here regularly and I have to say the food is just stunning, we spend good money on many so called high brow meals during the year but the blend of wonderful produce and beautifully seasoned makes this place truly special, an absolute hidden gem

The last two times i have visited the service hasn't been great .. the young staff are quite friendly, it seems to be the management side that have let it down for us while visiting. We ordered a drink that didn't get made properly in the first instance (considering it was 8£) and then got charged and extra £2.20 when we politely asked if we could have it made properly.. the young girl did take the additional cost off the over all bill in the end but i'm not sure if it would have been the same story if we were to have dealt with the management side..

Place looked really nice, went in staff were not very welcoming felt as if I was putting them out asking for a table.busy night, and there were only two staff on for bar and food.staff were not welcoming at all ,but did think,do they hate their jobs or are they stressed with being short staffed it seemed!food well presented but average, overpriced we thought for what we had.we had heard from other dinners lovely place to stay for accommodation .

Absolutely shocking. I called in at this place after a very difficult day hoping to get some food. We had nothing to eat for 14 hours, my mother for 24 hours. I was literally shaking. We had driven for 3 hours to Wales, then a futher 3 hours of travelling to 2 police stations and the mortuary to identify my father's body. Everywhere was shut by the time we had finished 7pm. It was at least 7 miles to the next place. We couldn't even find a chip shop or garage to buy something. I had asked for a table for 3, but we're informed they were fully booked (even though there were plenty of empty tables in the bar area). I explained the situation and asked if we could get some sandwiches to take away. Even though there is a sign staying takeaway they said they were not doing takeaway that evening. I'm appalled at the service I received.

We would definitely recommend and stay here again. The staff were friendly and helpful from check in until the end of our stay. Our family room was huge, shower pressure was excellent and we had a good nights sleep even in the hot weather. They were also very accommodating to our 9 month old, we asked for scrambled egg on toast for breakfast and it was plain (no added butter or salt) perfect for a baby. My partner wasn’t too keen on the bread with his award winning breakfast but that’s his preference.

Sue, Kev, Jay and the team were absolutely amazing. Our large group were incredibly well catered for, the rooms were perfect, the food spectacular and the bar well-staffed. A huge thank you from all of us for making our stay so memorable.

Every one of our needs were taken care of and any and all questions we had about the local area and amenities were answered, the staff could not do enough for us and Jay went above and beyond in looking after us all. The breakfast is one of the best I have ever eaten, I Can’t recommend this place highly enough.

Fantastic food, lovely staff and what a beautiful building. Plenty of parking. Very reasonably priced. We only ate there but would to stay overnight some time in the near future.
