There is a road all around the lake with parking and passing places at intervals. The lakeside restaurant to the north is closed so most facilities are clustered at the end of the lake near the dam. The waterfalls are at the far end from the dam, but there is a good circular walk with a car park. There are... More

As a mum of 3 boys, sometimes it's lovely to just have time with my hubby and be us. This is the most beautiful hotel I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. We always book a Deluxe Superior room do that we have the balcony and view of the lake. Simply stunning. The staff are second to none,... More

We stayed in the hotel nearby and were very lucky to have 2 dry days given the weather this winter. We had a nice walk from the car park by the visitor centre down to the bottom of the dam, across the bridge, through the sculpture park and back up the other side of the dam. On a still day... More

It was pretty quiet when we arrived but the first car park we came to was full except for one `car which had managed to park over two places instead of one which although is quite amusing to see just highlights how some people are inconsiderate. Did toy with the idea of taking a photo and posting it on here... More

Had a fantastic walk around the lake and spotted much wildlife on the way. And after a chilly walk the coffee in Artisans café at the lakeside is amongst the nicest I've ever tasted !

It takes about five hrs to walk around the lake . Be prepared as it's very cold . I would take a warm drink . The hotel will make up a picnic for you if you ask .

Hi Sue, Thanks very much for you review. I hope you still enjoyed your long walk around the reservoir, considering the cold weather we've had. There are lots of different trails walks that you can choose from, some that are shorter than others. They are marked yellow, red, orange, blue and purple and you can find more information about these... More

Amazing history involved here and it's amazing that size dam was made nearly 140 years ago. The drive around is long and is quite tight but so scenic. Plenty of places to pull in and trail walks available however it was very wet so we didn't participate. Well worth a visit and also to the Artisan tea room for a... More

A beautiful, quiet pllace to visit. The drive there (we came via Dolgellau) was almost as lovely. The reservoir was in full flow when we visited which was great to see.
