Pub lunch after walk in Presili Hills
Oct 2021 • Couples
Stopped here after walk in Presili Hills whilst cycling back for our car.
Short staffed and under pressure so limited choice of food from menu and wine from wine list.
Gluten-free menu but only one option available.
Happy with sandwiches and bean chilli.
Old fashioned traditional country pub with rustic ambience.

Lovely community pub
Sep 2021
A great spot for sampling the local beer after a walk in the Preseli Hills, particularly if it’s a sunny day and you can sit outside by the old railway platform.
We came back in the evening for a meal. Good honest pub food, although one or two things on the menu weren’t available. My wife particularly enjoyed her Rocky Road waffles.

A great find

Out of the way and I'l admit 1st impressions of the red tin building are not great. However those brave enough to continue will be rewarded.
Staff very friendly, beers nice and fresh, food cooked and presented nicely and served hot and tasty.
Staff can't do enough for you and are a credit to the community that own and run the establishment.

Fantastic food and staff. Super friendly staff nothing too much trouble at all, and very much welcomed visitors. Wonderful home cooked and hearty food at great prices. Would 100% recommend that little but extra drive out to Tafarn Sinc. A real credit to the community.

Great lunch
Sep 2021
My wife and I had lunch at the Tafarn Sinc last Monday which was a glorious sunny day. On arrival we had a warm welcome, told we could choose to sit inside or outside ( we had booked a table prior to our arrival). We decided to sit outside on the lawn area but then realised that there were tables on the old platform and moved there.
We ordered our food at the bar, this was well cooked and nicely presented, good portion size and good value .
On settling our bill at the bar we had a chat with the barman about the pub and he gave us a lot of information of the history, taking us over to show us some original photos on the wall and explaining how it became a community pub.
Excellent food & drinks. Excellent staff some Welsh speakers, we would highly recommend a visit and enjoy what the community have done.

Must visit.

Lovely food, lovely staff, new young chef who knows how to cook. Lovely evening. What ruined it was an elderly couple complaining about waiting too long for their food (about 20 mins) and after they had cleaned their plates complaining they didn't enjoy their meal. They had plenty of time to complain before they finished everything. Think this was a scam to get a free meal. Woman was the mouthpiece.
Apart from this it was a lovely evening, although this cabaret was rather entertaining. Wish I had taken a photo of this couple to warn other restaurants.

Absolutely wonderful and we mean that. It was a pity we only found this restaurant at the end of our weeks holiday! The first couple of nights were spent eating at the Royal Oak and not impressed. Spent all day trying to book a table but no reply. One occasion were told fully booked then miraculously msgiced a table! I asked for a child’s portion of tomato soup but told they would fill it less but charge the same! It was awful. Spaghetti bolonaise was terrible. One night we could not find anywhere to eat so made do with a sandwich so I would say The Royal are cashing in on convenience. Going back toTafarn Sinc. The food was wonderful, the staff were friendly and the puddings which we never have are out of this world. The chocolate bumpy whatever was so delicious.
