Seclusion? Yes. Hiking and biking? Yes. Scenic beauty? You bet. Proximity to the MIssissippi? Yes. And the best hamburgers in Tennessee at the Cornerstone Cafe/Citgo Station? Absolutely. Showers were old but the water was hot and there was plenty of it. For those without a...More

I was in Memphis for a conference and wanted to get some fall birding in. This park is less than a half hour from downtown, offered both driving and hiking birding opportunities and had friendly, knowledgeable staff working at the visitor center.

We came in the middle of the month and stayed until Nov. 1. Totally enjoyed the quiet serenity of the park and the large space we had to ourselves. A little crowded 1 weekend with 2 parties near our site but we got thru it....More

This was a very nice park and we really enjoyed the trails we hiked. We also loved the paved walk beside the lake. They are pet friendly and our little dog enjoyed the day as well. I've been to an event at the FedEx building...More

Nice experience overall. Cabins were big and were received a free boat for the stay to use on the lake. Cell phone connectivity is limited but it's to be expected. Would definitely return again.

Stayed in cabins from April 9-15. They are very old, in need of repair, smell bad and very dirty. We had 2 bedrooms each with a double bed and a small bathroom with no room to hang a towel or put anything on the counter....More

I have had a wonderful extended stay at Shelby Forest State Forest. Have been in the cabins for several days, with Cabin 2 and Cabin 3 being my favorites. The cabins are not fancy but fairly modern and very clean on the inside. Excellent beds....More

I would visit the pavilions, and see which you like. One of the pavilions is closed (#3 or #5?) But is a nice shaded area.
