50 year old Dad and 19 year daughter had a fabulous afternoon on a half day sea kayaking trip. Very knowledgable and entertaining guide who gave way more time than we were expecting for our what seemed like a very good value price. Highly recommended - we will be back!

I booked to go kayaking for my husbands birthday, neither of us had done it before and we really wanted to give it a go!

We had a little trouble finding the location, but when we arrived Alan and a lovely lady who I have unfrotunately forgot her name welcomed us. We were kayaking with 6 others so we were a good sized group. We got kitted out and went down to Porth Clais, it was a bit choppy but we set out. We chose to do a two-er and unfortunately for us this was a bad idea. Simply because it was super hard to co-ordinate as a two. It would have been a better idea to go in single kayaks.

It was great to get out in the sea and really explore, it was quite hard when you got out away from the cliffs but it was worth it!

It was a great experience but we discovered that kayaking wasn't for us. The team were fantastic though and their guidance was amazing! I would recommend them and the location.

I went coasteering with friends who hadn't done this before (myself included), but the activity was both accessible and exciting. The instructors were great, fun, and always aware of how we were getting on. Despite a choppy sea, everyone had an amazing time. And the photos were on Facebook within a few hours!

My husband, 12 year old daughter and I spent a fantastic day of adventure with dragon activity guides. Though the day was dry, the sky was overcast and a chilly North Sea breeze made it rather cold. We had booked for kayaking and coasteering but Alun our guide wisely suggested we do climbing in the morning and a water activity after lunch. We substituted the kayaking with rock climbing.
We are moderately active and do a reasonable amount of walking and cycling. For the intensity of the activities booked, this was a first time for us. Alun was gently encouraging and inspired confidence. We looked around the rocky areas where the activity would take place while Alun taught us a few basics. He did make it look a lot easier than it is though! He hung off the surface of a sheer wall like Spider-Man and tried to convince us that we could do the same, so heartened by his trust in our abilities we went off for the real thing.
The spot for the climbing was a sheer wall which dropped into the sea. Alun set up the ropes while we wriggled into special shoes, set our helmets and tried to control that racing heart. My daughter with her experience of residential trips was sent down first. We watched and took photographs on Alun's camera as she clambered up. I went next clinging on to the rope for dear life. Alun tried to convince me that I really did not need to, I could let go and the rope would still hold my weight. The sound of waves splashing beneath me would not let me though. The climb was not bad and it was a sense of achievement at the end. My husband went next. He had been having a bout if muscle spasms and knee problems the weekend before, but no sign of it on the climb- or maybe it was just Alun's magic! Alun next suggested going on a more difficult section where an area held no footholds. He taught us a different technique for it. Daughter first again. Alun asked me if I wanted to go with a twinkle in his eye. On an impulse I decided ok!
Down again, this time could not think where to start. The Alun tells me from high above that the foothold less area is yet to come. He also reassures me that if I get stuck he will send me another rope and pull me up. I start up and can't believe I am gaining height. At some points I do plead for a rescue rope but Alun assures me I can do it. The last bit of the climb is a bit of a blur- but then I was climbing over to the end point.
We return for lunch to the kiosk at porth Calais. Alun asks us to make sure we have enough carbohydrates in us for the coasteering. We then get fitted with gear- everything right up to old shorts and old trainers supplied. All we had on of our own was swimwear.
We clamber down the rocks and lower ourselves into the freezing water, get a feel of it and paddle out. Soon we have reached our first jutting out point to try jumping off. Alun gives us a demo. I try first, crossing my arms over my chest as shown, close my eyes and .........jump. The wind rushes by my ears and then I hit the water and go down like an arrow, the feeling is smooth and tranquil. Open my eyes to a bluish green haze, and then I am shooting out, breaking out over the water. Alun sits there with a double thumbs up. I clamber on to the rocks on the opposite end to watch my daughter and husband go and we are off again.
Time flies as we jump, swim, clamber, play in the waves which wash us in and out of caves and then it is time to make our way through yellow rocks up again.
As we make our way back exhausted but with a great feeling of satisfaction, we can't thank Alun enough. That's what we call a gem of a guide!

Been coasteering three times now each time with a different company and dragon was the best. We changed booking days at the last minute and the lady on the phone was very accommodating, passing on lots of useful advice and support.
Went with our two boys (10 & 11) and the instructor managed to get the best out of them whilst also recognising the needs of all individuals in the group, from the timid to the fearless!
Highly recommend this company. They will look after your needs and I have no doubt that they will calmly manage anything that coasteering, sea kayaking or rock climbing may throw at you!
Will be back for more next year!

Went with a small group coasteering. Stunning coastline and such a fun activity. All equipment is in good condition and the instructor was patient and knowledgeable of the local wildlife, area and the sport itself. Great lads morning out!!!

Had a great afternoon coasteering with Alun, small group of people (our family of 4 and then 2 other guys). Alun was great with our two children (aged 10 and 12) and he was also great with the adults, he
put everyone at ease and helped us overcome our fears when we felt less confident. We all thoroughly enjoyed it and it is definitely the highlight of our holiday! Photos were uploaded to their Facebook page within a couple of hours which was fab. Would not hesitate to recommend. Thanks so much.

We did kayaking and coasteering on two separate days and thoroughly enjoyed both days. The weather for the kayak was a bit bleak but that didn't damage the experience at all, we were out on the sea and likely to get wet anyway. The swell on the sea made it great fun playing and paddling around the rocks on the coastline. The coasteering was just a brilliantly fun way of experiencing the area, you didn't have to do the high jumps if you didn't feel up to it and could just float about and enjoy the scenery. There are plenty of activity guides around the area but I would recommend Dragon in a heart beat.

I spent Saturday afternoon coasteering with a group of 6 friends and it was FANTASTIC! I didn't really know what to expect but it exceeded anything I might have imagined. It was fun, challenging, exciting and really not that cold! The instructors were so lovely and made us feel very safe but also made sure we pushed ourselves a little!

I also loved the hot chocolate offered at the end of the activity - perfect to warm our bodies up!

I would highly recommend both coasteering and Dragon Activity Guides - you won't regret it!

A few tips - bring lots of warm clothes, being plastic cups to share hot chocolate, maybe change before arriving as there's no changing room nearby.
