We are an independent family business located between Wrexham and Chester. We have a Garden Centre and Farm Shop with a Restaurant, large Gift area and seasonal Pick Your Own. We offer a unique shopping experience and pride ourselves on our team of friendly staff. Our Farm Shop has an abundance of locally sourced produce and tasty treats, from daily essentials such as free range eggs and freshly baked bread, to a wide range of speciality goods including cheese, flavoured oils and local beers. We take great pride in supplying our customers with fresh fruit and vegetables from our working farm, from field to shop in 5 minutes with zero food miles. Jamie Wards Traditional Family Butchers offer a wonderful selection of meats including delicious Welsh black beef and Welsh lamb. At their deli counter you can buy cheese, pies, pate, terrines and cured meats from around the world. Our established Garden Centre has a plentiful supply of quality plants and associated gardening products at competitive prices. In our large Gift Department there is something for everyone, from children's toys, candles and cards to homeware and books. Enjoy a wonderful view over the Welsh countryside as you relax and sample the home-cooked menu in the Strawberry Fields Restaurant. We also have an extensive menu available for our gluten intolerant customers. Bellis Brothers have been growing strawberries in Holt since Charles Bellis planted his first strawberry plant 'Black Prince' in 1860. Today we grow strawberries, raspberries, gooseberries, tayberries, loganberries, redcurrants, blackcurrants, rhubarb, peas and beans all available for picking. Pick your own opens Mid-June (weather permitting) please call or check our website for availability.

Staff let the place down badly
Apr 2021
I visited Bellis Brothers a couple of years ago, the service was absolutely terrible, I vowed never to visit again. Two years down the line I thought everyone deserves another chance....sadly my first underwhelming impressions were correct! The garden centre and shop are what you would expect, however the staff I encountered are a disgrace to the company.
1. The lady standing outside with the job of meeting and greeting made fun of an elderly gentleman who politely asked if he needed to wear a mask in the garden centre.
2. The lady at the till, hardly spoke, didn’t explain why she had difficulty finding a code for 3 items and just kept her head down failing to engage while she was tutting to herself.
3. I had 2 baskets full of plants which paid for however I needed to use the baskets which I brought to the till to take them to my car, I simply and politely requested to do this and was sternly warned that is not normally allowed but she would let me do this provided I returned them immediately!
4. Having promised to do this, I then encountered the meet and greet lady... who told me firmly they didn’t allow baskets beyond her point! I told her I would return them immediately and she stood down from her place of arrogance!

Once again Bellis Brothers establishment have surpassed my expectations!

Tasty Farm Food.
Sep 2020
This was on our list of places to buy supplies for our holiday and proved to be worth a visit.
We did not purchase a trolley load but what we selected was very good and would have returned if we had more time.
Chappie on butchers was ever so helpful.

Meet the meat chancers
Jun 2020
I have been a constant at Jamie Wards butchery, Bellis`s since he took up residence, but alas he has been taken over by Bellis themselves. The drop in meat quality and service is terrible with , the butcher,??, if he really is a butcher not knowing his cuts, he looked at me as if I had arrived from another planet and requested some sort of meat cut that did not exist. Since,, I have been back on 2 visits to purchase pork steaks which were full of water which filled the meat dish whilst cooking and was actually boiling the pork instead, if you wish to buy copious amounts of water with your meat this is the place to get it. On top of this the lamb steaks my wife bought were looking very tasty on the butchers tray but he failed to tell us that the other sides were pure sheets of fat which made up 2 thirds of the weight, and again the proverbial water content took up another half of what was described as welch lamb. Service---zero,,,Quality----zero

Jun 2020
We have always gone to Bellis butchers, was a must.Sorry since it has been taken over never again .Twice we have bought sausages from there each time not nice sad to say.We had to queue for a while which we did not mind only to find when we got inside there was nobody serving on butchers counter for a while very annoying when people are waiting outside.

Bellis brothers butchers
May 2020
How utterly disappointed I was when I went to the butchers in the farm shop Bellis brothers have taken it over from Jamie Ward. I decided that I would have a large pork pie and some Belton red Cheshire cheese. When I got home I cut myself a piece of the pie, well the colour of the meat wasn’t too appetising to start with when I took a bite the meat was soggy too peppery not jelly inside and it just didn’t taste good at all. The cheese was wet from being in cling film and wasn’t as crumbly as Cheshire should be. Didn’t enjoy my lunch at all. Will not be hurrying back. What a shame the standard was so high and could not be faulted when Jamie Ward had it, maybe the shoes are too big to fill for Bellis brothers butchers. Stick to what you know.

Sociably Distanced Quality
Apr 2020
Walked to Bellis's from Wrexham last Wednesday and bought Steak & Kidney pie, a Quiche and a delicious Lemon Drizzle loaf. They were so tasty we went back on Saturday for another look around. The shop is so well set out and well organised so the wait outside is kept to a minimum. The meat section is perfect with a huge selection. We opted for the Lamb Mint Pin Wheels which were absolutely yummy accompanied by fresh new potatoes from the well stock veg section. We finished off our browsing with a few trays of plants and two bags of compost to keep us busy in the lockdown. What a perfect place to shop. Cannot fault it
