Great day out.

Lovely walk on a beautiful beach. It is aleways very popular at any time of the year but weekends in particular. Little word of warning about the car park. Last year they had an attendant and it was £5 irrespective of how long you stayed. This year it is camera controlled, pay on exit. It is £2 for the first 2 hours and 40p for every subsequent 20 minutes, maximum charge £7. When we exited the barrier was up giving the impression to some people that there was no charge. We stopped and checked the machine and in very small writing it said that we owed £2 40p, very reasonable. Some people may be tempted to go through without paying and may then recive a fine. There may be good reasons for it but they seem to be missing a good opportunity to make a fortune if there was somewhere to get a coffee and a snack.

Beautiful Place
Sep 2021
Was quite a walkthrough the forest to get to the lighthouse but it is well worth it. Remember to take a drink and snack or picnic. The views are stunning . There is a lot to see in such a small area. We walked back along the beach to the car park which can be a bit wet and soggy. We took our sandals off and walked along the edge of the sea. Very refreshing after a long walk. The car park charges are sorted on the way out as your registration is recorded when you enter. Not dear though. Wonderful for children to explore and a nice place for a swim on a nice day. Great for dogs as well. Just remember to bring you rubbish home or put it in a bin on the car park.

Stunning Beach.

We were told to visit this beach whilst visiting North Wales on recommendation from a friend. We were not disappointed. This is such a lovely beach with a pine forest behind with various ability walks and is suitable for people of all ages inc young families/ teens. Dogs are allowed on the beach and according to the sign as you walk on to the beach they are supposed to be kept to the left side, however nobody was sticking to these rules and were just going where they wanted but most people kept them on leads. Even when the beach got busier around midday it never felt crowded. There are toilets in the car park that are cleaned regularly. The Car Park is a decent size and when we arrived at 10am there was hardly anyone parked up but soon filled up and was full by lunchtime. Parking is £2.00 for 2hrs and 40p for every 20mins after that. The maximum daily charge is £7.00. We arrived at 10 and left at 3.30 and was charged £7.00. The only negative point was paying for the parking, this is done at a machine at the exit barrier and caused a massive queue to leave as people searched for change or used a card. It would make more sense to have the payment machine in the car park like in other forests we have visited to avoid queues at the exit.

Bad car parking system

Good beach but car parking is a mess, only one barrier to get out. Waited 40 minutes to get out of the car park, need to sort it out

Well worth the walk to get there

A very long walk along Newborough Beach to get there and great care about knowing tide times, as you may access and be stranded, or not be able to cross. First part of the walk is along the beach, then undulating sand dunes that have paths.

Dogs ****ting everywhere, masks and dog bags on beach and people smoking weed. No warden to control things or people letting their dogs run wild.

We were unlucky with the weather as it was overcast for a day but....we had an amazing day, walking and just enjoying beautiful part of Wales. Tiny, tidal isle was great and we enjoyed it so much we were almost caught by the tide!! We managed to get back waist height in the water!

Stunning part of the UK

Spent everyday of our camping trip coming to the beech. So much more to do around the beech if it's the miles of forest and nature reserve walks, a visit to the island of the blessed or just a day in the sea. Large carpark nestled in the reserve 5 minutes drive from Newborough, pay on exit at barrier. Another smaller carpark a little further down the coast set back in the nature reserve at Llyn Rhos about a 40 min walk through reserve to the beach, toilet and refreshments on large carpark.

Just planned to go for a walk down the beach and around the Island. Had no idea how beautiful this part of the world is. Part of the Island reminded us of Sagres in Portugal. Truly beautiful
