Up there with Conwy, Harlech, Cearnarfon. Adults may appreciate the design. There are towers and passageways for kids to explore. When we went there was a very good medieval event on. One of the best we've seen run by Cadw/ English Heritage.

Great looking castle and one of the castles that King Edward 1st had built in the 13th century. Well woeth a visit. Plenty of signposted parking close to the castle.

The castle entrance fee is a little expensive for a Castle that was never finished being built but there is a wealth of information around the ruins and there was also a display of weaving and coin making.

Yes you can take a pushchair around the grounds, but the upper levels are narrow walkways and staircases so would be difficult exploring the corridors and battlements.

I didn't see one but the castle it on the main high street so you have a few there to chose from close at hand.
