At first glance this is a somewhat unprepossessing unfinished building, first impressions can be wrong! It is unfinished (history had moved on), but the design and conception are astonishing as the many information points make clear. Take your time and appreciate what was being done here. If you can, go inland and look back and visualise what was planned -... More

Wednesday came to visit the dragon with the kids, a lovely day out and the castle is just the right size for little legs to explore! Not sure on where's to park the car? Head to the lifeboat station and there is a huge car park near there.

A wonderful place to visit and explore. Reasonably priced. Set up well to capture children's imaginations. We had no children with us on this trip but I know that had they been with us my grandchildren would have loved it, especially the dragon. At the time of our visit there seemed to be only one person trying to sell admission... More

The castle is lovely, lots of simple rooms to see. It was nice to imagine what some rooms were in the past. We were missing more information to read there, but we read lots about the history of the castle on the internet instead. The girl in the shop was nice and graceful enough to show us how to get... We went a couple of months ago and had a great time. There is lots to look at and some really interesting and informative exhibits. Lots of written information with pics and photos to support them. We are going again on 11th September when the lifeboat open day will also be taking place. Get yourself down there then, you won't... More

A good time was had by the children because the dragon was in residence. The castle is well signed although some of the steps are a bit difficult to megotiate.

We visited here to see the dragon, the kids had been so excited, I thought we'd only be there an hour or so but we ended up staying for 3 hrs! We did Evey nook n cranny of the castle, the kids were doing a dragon hunt (they had to find picture of dragons and write down where they saw... More

Visited this castle as was in the area and did not know what to expect. It was certainly very interesting. Lots of space for children and such fun being able to walk on the walls and explore some of the internal rooms and corridors. the information was good although I would have liked to see some more markers to show...
