Beaumaris is a gem of a medieval castle & its story is fascinating: well worth visiting. The staff were pleasant too. Much of it is not for those with mobility issues & if you visit as I did after heavy rain, is potentially treacherous. The...More

Up there with Conwy, Harlech, Cearnarfon. Adults may appreciate the design. There are towers and passageways for kids to explore. When we went there was a very good medieval event on. One of the best we've seen run by Cadw/ English Heritage.

The castle entrance fee is a little expensive for a Castle that was never finished being built but there is a wealth of information around the ruins and there was also a display of weaving and coin making.

Yes you can take a pushchair around the grounds, but the upper levels are narrow walkways and staircases so would be difficult exploring the corridors and battlements.
