Not great. Dogs barking and running loose all over the beach ( At one point there was over 10 dogs running around, non on leads) including the areas that dogs are banned from. Dog mess on the beach also.
There is a dog ban on certain areas of the beach which is pointless because the selfish entitled dog owners go were ever they please and there is zero enforcement. Not a safe place for young children with all these dogs and not hygienic either. You also have to pay to park your car. Only stayed here for 15 mins and that was enough won't be going back here anytime soon

Visiting the town on holiday, took the kids out to Pwllheli Beach - only a short 10 minute walk from town.
Lots of sand, with a few stones. Great spot for kite flying, or simply a walk.
Path down to the beach through the dunes could do with a few steps for safety, and a few more benches would be nice, but good apart from that.

I’ve visited this area for forty six years and cannot believe I have never visited this beach before. It is stunning. Beautiful sand , partly pebbled, clear sea water and lots of pretty shells. My grandchildren loved it. We had a picnic on the beach , paddled in the sea and walked right along the beach. Litter free and no dog poop. Saw jet skis and sail boats. Absolutely fabulous spot. This our new favourite beach.

48 years of going to Pwllheil in our summer holidays and this year we have been met with loads of parking tickets and also a speeding fine, the carpark in question has always been a free carpark but it seems now it is not and the speeding ticket was for 2 MPH over the limit.
Welcome to Pwllheli the advert says but it does not say we will get your money one way or another.
Not for us Pwllheli council we will be going some where else on our holidays now.........

This was our second time in Pwelli, we stayed in the same flat overlooking the sea on The Promenade. The first visit we used it as a base to travel up to Anglesey for the day which was stunning in itself. Another day we took a drive over to Snowdon and went up on the train. Everything we needed was within walking distance from our accommodation whether it was to stock up on groceries or pop to the local town for an evening meal. You can walk around the coast in either direction very easily. The second time w3 stayed we took the train down to Aberystwyth for the day and travelled up Constitution Hill on the mountain railway, a short but pleasant ride. This second trip we didn’t use the car for the whole week as again everything we wanted to do was central to where we were. We were able to watch dolphins and gannets diving from the bay window so staying was an absolute pleasure.

We stayed in Llanbedrog and took the coastal walk to Pwllheli after a storm . Wow the beach was amazing full off a variety off shells , crabs large and small and many more interesting finds all washed up on the beach proving that the sea was in good health with such a variety off species living near by.The sand is good with shale as well . The beach goes on for miles so you have so much space ...

We have visited this part of Wales many times but had not spent time at this beach. We were pleasantly surprised at how quiet it was, considering the town isn't that far away. The mixture of pebbles and sand isn't everyone's cup of tea but the beach was clean and plenty of space to enjoy. Sand dunes if you want more privacy. If you manage to park on the residential side, that (currently) is free. The beach side is (currently) £3 for the day.

Went for a lovely long walk on the beach today. It was surprisingly clean with not many people around, apart from a few dog walkers. The sun was out and it was nice day. Spent 3 hours just wandering, and that's after having found free parking near the marina. I'd recommend popping by if you enjoy a ramble, or the beauty of the beach.

Visited the beach on the first day of our holiday in North Wales at the beginning of August. Plenty of roadside parking available. Lovely beach for a walk. Very quiet and plenty of space for everyone. Enjoyed a delicious cake and drink outside in the sunshine at Cafe Largo at the end of our walk.

This is a beautifully sandy and clean beach with amazing view of the mountains. The little harbour and town of Pwllheli in walking distance make it a true experience! Sometimes you can watch dolphins off the coast and otters off the beach promenade of this unusually clean beach. It is never crowded and you can walk for miles undisturbed, even at the height of season. A truly beautiful and unspoilt experience! I'm definitely coming back for more next season!
