lunch time visit
Jul 2019
the food and service at the somerset arms is good quality and reasonably priced. you will enjoy a nice friendly atmosphere and a good choice of food and drinks. they have a loverly beer garden for sitting out on summer nights with play area for the kids. nice easy parking for the less mobile and certainly worth a visit. I would certainly recommend

Vast improvement on the old
Jul 2019 • Couples
We called into the pub today for lunch and it’s had a refit, and I must say it’s a vast improvement on the old dated pub. I did however fancy Tuna as they’ve always served up a lovely tuna baguette but it wasn’t on the menu with light lunches being very limited, how hard is it to keep a couple of tins in the fridge. We decided on Ham salad and a Ham baguette with a portion of chips and I must say the food was very good. We must return and try out the evening meals to see if they are better than they used to be.

Sunday lunch
Aug 2018 • Family
First visit here and would definitely recommend. Nice outside area with plenty for children. There was 4 adults and 3 children and we all had roast dinners. Good food and certainly sufficient portions. We didn’t phone ahead (our fault) to enquire about dairy free desserts but the lady was so accommodating and no one was left out on desserts. Will certainly return.

Love it
Mar 2016 • Family
I really love this place, we go regularly through the summer, they have a park and sometimes a bouncy castle in the garden and the people are lovely. I always enjoy my food. None of the fancy tiny portion rubbish. It's always good old fashioned meals, everyone happy and laughing, perfect family pub, just how we love it and hope it never changes

Date night

My husband & I decide to visit for tea rather than cooking. We were served quickly with homemade food & a drink for less than £30.
There is ample choice of homely food & homemade desserts. There are also a selection of home made cakes for sale - yummy

Good 'home cooked' food
Mar 2015 • Friends
Have eaten here fairly regularly last couple of years and always enjoyed the meals; mostly lunches. Not a gastro pub no, but we don't all want gastro. Some of use want homely British food which is tasty and fresh. Very good choice of menu, and wines list. Lovely liqueur coffees with real cream on top, not squirty stuff. And yes, those cakes on sale are fab! Got a 5 in their food hygiene rating too. Will be back before long!

Fine, but definitely not a gastro pub!
A big group of us booked for Sunday lunch, which is never an easy catering challenge. Selection of Sunday Roasts all on offer, very much from the "large scale boil it to death" school of cooking, but friendly enough place and a good garden for kids.
