    Recent visit to nantcol waterfalls
Amazing place very scenic & nice walks quite steep in some places so prob not great for people with mobility problems but stunning views when you get to top. Very tranquil place to get away from it all . Falls is accessed through camp site we payed £4 for parking you can stay as long as you want . There’s small hut selling refreshments toilets on car park so good facilities.

    Fantastic stay at Nantcol Waterfalls
We just got back from a fantastic week at Nantcol Waterfalls. The site was fabulous - just a few of the things that appealed to me: the scenery... SO pretty. clean ablutions, lovely walks, great fun for the kids to paddle in the stream on site, fire pits to hire and a little shop with the basic necessities and lovely ice creams. The staff were very friendly and efficient (and extremely patient with us when we changed our booking 3 times!) There is plenty to do just a short drive from the site - we visited Shell Island, Harlech castle and Portmeirion during our stay. The weather could have been better during our holiday, but we made the decision to carry on regardless and had a lovely time.

    Stunning views and great walk
We stayed in a cottage in Llanbedr and visited the waterfalls as part of a walk. We didn’t stay at the campsite so can’t review the site. The waterfalls are spectacular and well worth going to see. You enter the area by the river at the campsite. Here the ground is flat, the river runs slow enough that children (and adults!) can play in the water. As you follow the river uphill, the terrain becomes more challenging, not just the steep incline but it is uneven, rocky and slippy/muddy in areas. You need some good footwear if you want to get to the top end of the river and view the waterfalls. The views of the waterfalls and surrounding area are stunning. My nine year old really enjoyed the challenge. We saw many bird species including a Dipper which was great to spot! The little campsite kiosk makes a lovely cup of coffee!

ONE OF THE BEST WE'VE BEEN TO
My wife, and our dog Walter have been here for a week, and we have had a great time. This is one of the best campsites we have been to. It's clean, with all the modern conveniences, and most importantly quiet. On arrival, the friendly staff inform all guests of the site's NO MUSIC policy. This is a process that all campsite's should do, so as to assure that consideration is adhered to. The campsite is surrounded by some of the most beautiful countryside you could wish for, including rapid waterfalls and rock pools, within a flourishing woodland and lush Welsh landscape. Should you wish to venture off-site, there's various beach front towns to visit within a very reasonable distance from camp. We will definitely, without doubt, be back to Rhaedr Nantcol next year

    Wonderful Waterfalls
An unexpected delight. Well signposted, accessed via a narrow road. Large car park (£4 daily charge) next to a campsite, with the best toilet going! Spotless with the sweetest smelling air freshener. Picnic area around the lower part of the river. Short easy walk upstream where the water becomes more vigorous. The most impressive waterfalls may be accessed either via a more strenuous ascent over a stile over the wall or a gentler ascent via a gate. Certainly worth the effort whichever route is taken. Stout footwear recommended as the area can be boggy in places, but the wetter the weather the more impressive the waterfalls.

A really lovely part of Wales.
Myself, partner and our dog were actually staying at the campsite here so we had very easy access to the trails. The views of the waterfall and surrounding area were absolutely fantastic and all of the trails incredibly scenic which made for fantastic photos. At the start of the trail there is an ‘easier route’ with a steep path, or a ‘hard route’ with steep steps. Once past these, the trails are both quite easy, with no major hills. The ‘riverside trail’ was our absolute favourite, so much so that we walked it every day of our trip. We would absolutely recommend it. One thing to bear in mind if you are bringing dogs is that they MUST be kept on a lead when walked through the campsite. Unfortunately there were 2 instances where uninvited, off lead dogs came into our tent as they passed through the campsite. The campsite staff were very helpful with this issue. The car park was a decent size, the staff at reception were very helpful and the toilet was immaculate.

A pleasant campsite with nice, new facilities. There’s access to several walks to visit the waterfalls, the pitches are spacious, and visiting as a couple or with friends, I’d recommend it.

Our experience as a young family was hampered by several factors.

Being picky, our particular pitch was left uncut leaving the grass quite long. Our adjacent pitches and the rest of the site that we saw was nicely cut. Unfortunately it rained a lot over our stay, and the long grass meant we were a lot wetter than we needed to be when walking around. Especially with a toddler wanting to wander.

Being realistic, there was a charge to use the showers which we only discovered when we arrived. This was disappointing as the flexibility of a warm shower (when our toddler’s play and the wet weather determined it) was removed. You can purchase tickets which work with a timer, so we did but we spent sparingly. We didn’t want to overspend and end up with unused shower time if we didn’t need it, so we put up with it.

Next, there’s no phone signal there. You can purchase wifi access but the cost is per device. For the duration of our stay and small number of devices needed, it would have cost us £30. You can access the wifi for free for a 10 minute period, once per email address. Personally, I find this a bit off putting in 2023. We used the free wifi at the Victoria Inn down the road from the campsite instead.

Finally, the camp site was noisy. Our pitch was close to two noisy ones with adults enjoying a few drinks into the night. On our final night our neighbouring pitch was inhabited by a young family who unfortunately for us, made a ridiculous racket late into the night and started again not long after 6:30am.

Overall, it’s a decent place but if you’re claiming to be a family campsite, I would really hope for a scheduled quiet time. The best campsites we’ve used have a black out between 22:00-7:00 and this was always respectfully observed.

If you’re camping with little ones, I can’t recommend it.

We got to the falls after a little drive up some small lanes and saw that the charge was £3 to park. We went and happily paid and only were told afterwards that our dog would not be allowed off of the lead. We began to walk and after our dog went to the toilet we quickly became aware that there were no dog bins.
We turned back and left as it wasn't really what we were looking for. I'm sure it's a lovely walk if you don't have a dog, but for exercising a cocker spaniel it's not good at all.

STUNNING!!! We stayed in a Bell Tent for 2 nights in August, 2 Adults and 2 children and it was stunning.
It has a little pool with waterfalls at the bottom surrounded by the camp site, a rocky bottom to the pool but the kids didn’t mind and they were all happy to paddle throughout the day.
The walk further up the hill provided the most amazing waterfalls that you can imagine in Britain.
The bell tent was amazing, full quipped with a comfortable double bed and 2 sofa beds, fairy lights, a plug in heater, carpets and kitchen area with kettle toast and fridge. So quaintly decorated.
There’s a smal kiosk shop on-site selling bare essentials. The shower facilities are excellent with a small charge for 5 minutes showers.

Gorgeous site perfect for families and friends.
We stayed as part of a sensible group of 8, 6 adults and 2 children.
We enjoyed a variety of accommodation as we had a electricity hook.up on our campervan, friends stayed in a tent and friends hired the wooden hut! It was a lovely stay with plenty of space for the children to play and make friends.
Showers and toilets were clean considering it was a peak weekend.
The river and waterfall river walk was beautiful. We managed it with a 3 and 8 year old. We loved the walk which took about 2 hours, maybe 3 with us paddling in the water!!

Shop was stocked with fresh milk and we had no problem with anything all weekend. Family friendly, safe and clean.
We purchased wifi and it worked fine on 2 phones for the 3 days we stayed.

Can't wait to return and explore more parts of the site! 9

Second time here, camped on the waterfront, met some wonderful people either side of us, sad we didnt get to say goodbye to Paul & Kevin but the kids and the rain made it a nightmare! If ever they see this - You were fab camping neighbours :D

The kids had a BLAST and place was spotless. Owners were fab and assisted us with a jump when the car decided to stop working.

Kids want to move there and quite frankly so do I!

We visited the local butchers, London House ( ten min down road) for the best food EVER and enjoyed Easter at a beautiful place!

Thanks for having us xx

This place is amazing, we have been camping here for the last 20 years and it still remains the most beautiful place to come, we are now bring the children along and the second generation now love it too. The owners are great with a real family feel, with everything that is going on it feels a safe and friendly place to be. The walks are challenging in parts but its a waterfall so it is going to be steep, however they have put in a zig zag path to make it a little easier. Id recommend it to anyone and everyone (except if im going to make sure we can get a spot !)
