We walked the red route to the waterfalls which was well worth it, note that some of the tracks were like a river due to it being so wet. Clear signposts marking the routes along the way. Plenty of different walks and distances detailed at the beginning, same for the bike tracks. £2 min to park for 2hrs + additional for anytime over, however paid for when you leave so only pay for what you use. Toilets are still open in visitor centre. Note that bike hire currently requires you to bring your own hat due to Covid Well maintained tracks and would recommend anyone that enjoys the outdoors.

Fantastic MTB trails! Lots of climbing, with a great variety of trails - rock gardens, root sections, fast and flowing sections and lots of berms and lovely small to medium jumps. Something to keep most mountain bikers happy.

After a great walk through the woods, along the river, the waterfalls, gold mining remains and whole valley, we were keen to find out more about the history, etc. So we drove to the “Visitors Centre” to find it closed at 4pm and that we had to pay nevertheless for parking. Next day we made a special 35-min drive to the centre again, full of anticipation. We found the Centre was shut apart from the cafe for take-away only. The “Visitor Centre” ship was there but screened off and we could not look at or buy anything. As for the information we had come to see, this very small display in a corner of the cafe was also screened off, but just accessible. While reading with interest how the ore was ground and the gold extracted, I was told by the supervisor that it was closed and it was made clear that I should come out. We all left the Centre immediately feeling very disappointed, paid again for parking, and drove the 35 mins home again. The young local receptionist had told us it was not closed due to there not being as many or more visitors than usual, but because of company policy! Aaaargh! There is so much more that could be made of this facility and it’s “270 archaeological sites”.

Fantastic time exploring the area. Started on red route but realised quickly out of our depth! Went on Minatour Trail and challenging enough with plenty of leg burning moments from the hills and fast downhill sections. Scenery amazing. Make sure you include loop 4 when you see the waterfall. Bike hire excellent. Opted for mid range bikes. Glad we did as the suspension was needed at times! Did have a mechanical issue with first bike but they happily changed it over without fuss. Highly recommended in a beautiful part of Wales
