This was a streamed event. Obvioulsy you don't get th samee atmosphere as you would seeing it live at the theatre but it was still an enjoyable experience and good value for money. Sutton Foster was amazing in the role of Reno Sweeney with good support from Gary Wilmot, Robert Lindsey and Felicity Kendall. The dance sequences were outstanding and we enjoyed the Cole Porter songs. We were impressed with the Covid measures - we had to show our passports on entry and then mask wearing was enforced whilst watching the production. We felt very safe attending this event. A little heating would have been welcome.

The production of Beauty and the Beast (pantomime) was superb and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Kudos to all actors, support staff, etc. I was dissapointed in the complete disregard of the mask wearing rules by many in the audience. There is no social distancing and you are packed in the seating areas. The theatre website clearly states masks must be worn by all except 11 years old and younger unless eating or drinking. The only weak reminder I saw of this were staff at the seating entrances during intermission hold a drawing of a person wearing a mask. Seems to me a lot more could be done to enforce the rule. Everyone attending (adults) must present a valid covid pass or proof of a negative covid test (within previous 48 hours) but that is not foolproof nor negate the need to wear masks.

Thank you for the review - we're really glad you loved the show. We've been looking at how we can strengthen awareness of mask wearing in the theatre and have made some changes since the show has opened. It's really important to us that everyone has an enjoyable experience and feels safe while visiting us.

A very welcome return, after 20 months, to our favourite theatre. We went to see the excellent production of Dial M for Murder featuring Tom Chambers and Christopher Harper. The acting was excellent and the plot kept you guessing virtually up to the end of Act 2. The seating is such that you are off centre to the people in front of you - so you get an excellent view of the stage wherever you sit. The tickets are very good value for money. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Currently the seating is still social distanced. We had an empty seat either side of us and also behind us. There are loads of sanitiser stations and most, but not all of the audience, wore masks in the auditorium. We felt safe and comfortable going again to the theatre and will certainly be reurning to this venue.

Went to see the kite runner. My first visit and when I got to my seat it had a little welcome card on it. What a lovely touch. They get some good plays here with well known actors in the cast

Freindly staff, very helpful. The theatre was well laid out - I was in Row D and had a good view. I think the seats further back did seem quite steep. The program cost £3 - was impressed with its content, much more informative than the glossy ones that you get at some bigger theatres in places like Liverpool/Manchester and which cost much more.

Ample free parking opposite the theatre in the evening - was worried it might take a while to get out of the car park at the end of the performance, but no issues.

Will definitely go again

Six the musical was brilliant totally entertaining start to finish. Singers and musicians simply couldn't fault them. Technical parts and set outstanding. Theatre Clwyd never fails, even whilst undergoing refurbishment still professional and organised.

When the late Terry Hands retired as artistic director I feared for the theatre's future. I need not have worried having seen excellent work since. Far better in every sense than Venue Cymru in Llandudno with work being done to help the vulnerable in the community. Excellent!!!!

We first heard of this theatre when we moved to Warrington two years ago. Have been to two Pantos, both very enjoyable. Thought we’d give some of the plays a try and have booked three. Came to see Bang Bang on Saturday night. It was very funny ........ a mixture of Fawlty Towers and a Brian Rix farce (for those old enough to remember)😂. Many laugh out loud moments, well acted. Looking forward to the next two, one in April and one in May!

We went to see the three musketeers last night. What a hoot! If you need a laugh then go. It’s daft, with echoes of Morecombe and Wise humour. A great show for young and old. We left with a smile on our faces, much needed with the worries of today. The theatre has great free parking and although the renovation requires a different entrance with the bar in a marquee, it didn’t inconvenience us. Thanks for injecting some happiness in these worrying days.

I have been visiting this theatre for over 20 years and can honestly say I have never seen a poor theatrical performance and many of them have been exceptionally good. The performance last week - Gabrial with Paul McGann - was no exception - all the cast were excellent and it was a really polished and thought provoking play.
Unfortunately we have nothing good to say about the Bistro. As with the theatre, we have been eating at the Bistro as long as we have been visiting the theatre as we live an hour away and my husband is diabetic, so it was ideal for him to eat here after leaving work but before the performance.
We have seen several changes over the years and generally each major change was a step in the wrong direction but this latest move has been disastrous. We always book the same table as it is roomy and comfortable but when we arrived , it was occupied - when we commented, we were told we must have just asked for the general area, not the table number. WRONG. We know exactly what we booked and what number table - even pointing it out at the time of booking. The young lady who listened to our complaint then told the man behind her - Oh I don't know, something about a table being booked........She was extremely dismissive and rude, as if we were not there and couldn't hear her. So we sat elsewhere. The floor was filthy and there were crisp packets littering the shelving. My husband then went up to order and returned to the table and handed me the receipts.....only to see we had been overcharged. I went and asked why the blackboard and till receipts were different prices and the man on the till checked it and mumbled something about the staff member had not known the difference between the lunch time menu and the evening menu. If this was the case, why was the same food different prices, depending on the time of day? It was only pennies different but it was not the amount - it was the principal. I then turned to return to the table and the man said something about the food, to which I replied, I didn't know as yet as we had not had our food - at which time he shrieked "IT IS ON IT'S WAY, MADAME". I returned and sat down and the starters arrived - soup and whitebait, both of which were fine.
Our main courses arrived and both were fairly dismal. My husband had an enormous portion of pasta in sage butter but it was like eating rubber and it was barely warm. My burger was ok but the bun was like eating dry cardboard and the chips were not chips at all - they were some sort of wedges/skins. My whole was only luke warm. The man from behind the till came over and asked if everything was okay - both my husband and I had food in our mouths, so by the time I managed to say I didn't like the wedges/skins as they were not chips as advertised, he was already walking away. A lady on the next table had to send her plaice back as it was raw in the middle and despite 3 people behind the counter, they were unable to serve snacks and coffees in time for people to have them before the play started. We were unable to complain for the same reason - we barely got into the theatre before the show started.
There were twice as many staff as there used to be but everything was poor. A notice said it was still a work in progress and I didn't suppose it could have been much worse but whether we would risk another meal, I'm really not sure.
Finally it was very disappointing that the shop closes so early now - I used to love coming out of the theatre and heading for the shop - I always bought something and sometimes quite a lot, much to my husband's dismay.
So, huge YES to the theatre and an equally huge NO to the bistro.

Every year we go to see the panto and it is simply fabulous. The theatre itself is warm and clean, the staff are friendly and helpful and the facilities are good, with a good selection of drinks and ice creams available before the show and at the interval. The view of the stage is excellent no matter where you sit in the auditorium. The show itself is just fab, perfect for everyone from young to old.
