A short drive from town, not far from the miners arms pub. Was only there five minutes. We parked in the side street, statue Is quite interesting

Could be better presented
Sep 2020
This sculpture is not really publicised and indeed is seen when following the Offa's Dyke trail on the climb out of town. There is one bench seat on which to have a rest but it could actually quite dangerous trying to reach it if the inclined grass is wet. Because there is only one bench ( which has a coastal view) we observed some people trying to sit on the sculpture itself.
We actually found this trying to find our way ( hardly signed) to Hillside Gardens which is actually higher up again ( uphill - you need to be fit ) from this area. The gardens give an excellent view ( better still) but again there is only one bench at the top of the open area despite there being an enormous 1930s shelter and terrace on top. There is also a sad looking stone circle which you only realise what it is if you know of its existence. Although named as a garden there is little evidence of any past glories and it is certainly in need of council or friends attention if it is to be worth the steep climb in future years.

A large, fun object that entices the walker to an elevated place with great views
May 2018 • Friends
The walk to the helmet is quite steep but not too long as to put off the causal walker. The view increases steadily and benches are placed in accessible spots which provide convenient places to enjoy the view of both pestatyn and the sea. Details such as 'white horse' waves add to the appeal on windy days when the sea is more active. Progressing a little further brings the walker to a very pleasant terrace again with thoughtful sitting arangements. This area also has two life size figures of a male and female hiker carved from wood. The detail is very good and the sense of humour in the figures makes for quite good photo opportunities. The planting appears to be quite insect friendly and it is possible to see a good range of bees.

Strange place to leave it.

This is at the top of a steep hill but don't be put off as the views at the top are stunning. It's a lot easier coming back down.

Worth a vist

It is after all only a replica of a Roman Helmet, but it is well made and worth a look if you are up that way. What is better though are the great views over Prestatyn from this spot.

An Interesting find!

Walking the start of the Offa's Dyke Path you would not expect to come across this but as it is half way up a hill it is a great place to rest and take in the view.

Great piece of local history
Aug 2016
If your in Prestatyn it's worth taking a look, I walked here with my 7 year old he enjoyed hiding inside the helmet and running around. An interesting sculpture. It's on quite a steep hill so not ideal for people with walking difficulties or wheelchair users. Worth a visit if you live locally.

Not really sure why it's there

If you're walking up Prestatyn hillside ,then a stop to look at this modern sculpture is worth it. I wouldn't go out of my way to see it. I live only a couple of streets away and I didn't know it was there for a year. Young kids find it exciting though.
