An ancient Bath House off the beaten track
Sep 2020
A bit of a trek from the town centre, but it's certainly worth it to see this hidden gem. While small, it's well preserved, and if you look carefully you can still see that some of the Roman pipe work still remains. The baths are complimented with some nice palm trees and shrubbery, which helps gives the site an illusion that it is somewhere a bit exotic. It has a small information board explaining the history and function of the baths, although it's a bit brief as it has to fit both English and Welsh text.
If you don't fancy taking the walk to the Bath, there is a small amount of parking space so you can drive there, although you should make sure you know exactly where to go, as the ruins are in a housing estate.

Difficult to find but worth a look

We have visited before but this time we took out Italian friends to see what their ancestors left behind, it is amazing what was achieved 2,000 years ago.

Lovely little visit

It took a bit of finding but we got there, the remains are lovingly tucked in between number 42 & 42a. The grounds are kept clean and tidy and has a bench to sit on, theres also a board with a little interesting history on, its worth a short visit

Worth a visit
Jul 2019 • Family
This attraction is definitely worth a visit if you are in Prestatyn. As other reviewers have said, it is small but a great find. It is in the middle of a residential street so there is not much parking available. It was much smaller than I expected but still great to visit and learn the history of the area. It's amazing to see how advanced the Romans were. So glad I decided to go.

Small gem in a housing estate
Apr 2019 • Couples
This is a well set out architectural remains of a Roman bath house. Quite small but well presented with an interesting information board identifying the various parts of the structure. Well worth calling in if you are in the area.

Charming Roman ruin
Mar 2019 • Couples
Absolutely worth visiting if you're in Prestatyn. A free attraction and well-preserved ruins of what was once a Roman Bath House.

Today it sits in the middle of a residential cul-de-sac in its own garden. There's some great information boards about the ancient structure. Would have liked some info about how it was unearthed (was it during housing estate's construction?)

If they don't already, the council could organise reenactment days during summer months? Would be perfect!

Worth finding
Mar 2019
In amongst the grand castles of the area and tucked down a small residential road is this hidden gem of north wales history. There’s a single sign post from the main road. Drive all the way to the end of the residential road and you’ll find the bath house right in front of you. There is a good information board explaining the layout and the shape of the bath house with the different rooms and hypocaust are really easy to make out. Well worth seeking out if you’re in the area.

Worth a quick look if you're in the area
Apr 2018 • Couples
The Roman Baths is a very small piece of archaeology located in a secluded residential cul-de-sac on the edge of Prestatyn. Unless you were looking for it, you wouldn't find it.
Not really a must see attraction, unless you have a penchant for Roman archaeology and history.
