Completed in 1290, this is a fine example of a concentric circle, with outer walls serving as a line of defense around a series of inner walls and the main living quarters.

Visited on a wet day and the cafe was not open because they had experienced a flood. Although imposing and full of history I felt disappointed with lack of information and felt the whole experience would benefit from an audio guide. Fabulous views though from...More

So much of this castle is still there, it didn't take much to imagine it in its hey day, bustling with castle staff. Easy to get around and plenty of information boards. Great views too. Got some different and good views looking up at the...More

Reasonably priced attraction. One gripe was that the English version of the guide book costs £4.50 (£2 more than in other languages - although the English book is larger) On the whole well worth a visit. Was very quiet when we visited, Some alcoves had...More

Love the new access bridge, the exhibits within the castle are very informative, The views from the top are great, giving views of snowdonia and the park.

Very glad we made the trip to Harlech as the castle is really good if you enjoy your history/castles. Some good information boards on the way round and access to towers with stunning views. All in all a really enjoyable place to visit.

The castle is well maintained and the information is quite comprehensive. The slide show at the beginning is a little pointless as all the information is repeated on the stands in the next room but maybe something children would enjoy.

Only £6 per adult to explore the castle, lots to read in the lower rooms. We went up the spiral staircase in the first tower 142 steps up but when you get to the top it is well worth it. Lovely views. Only small barriers...More

Harlech train station is very close to the castle but you do have to walk up a very steep hill! Shouldn't take longer than 10-15 minutes and you can get a delicious ice cream at the top :)
