Our tour guide Ms. Jackie deserves a standing ovation for the most entertaining yet informative tour we've ever been on. Ms. Jackie greeted us with open arms and pretty much hugged us with her enthusiasm, creativity, passion and knowledge the entire 2 1/2 to 3 hours. I became so mesmerized by the Memphis afro-american and civil rights history and taking photos in the van, that I actually slid off my seat! We all had a good laugh which helped with digesting the tragedies that have happened in history to innocent people because of racism.

It was all the previous excellent reviews that made us want to take this tour and we were not disappointed. We are so happy that we made this choice since we only had one full day to spend in Memphis. We are so glad that Ms. Jackie pointed out The Four Way soul food restaurant where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, B.B. King and Aretha had all eaten at. We went back after the tour and OMG!!
The best country fried steak ever!!
Thank you Ms. Jackie for giving us a lasting memory. We want to go back!

I decided to come to Memphis for my birthday just to get away for a few days and I booked the African American History Tour of Memphis. I’m so glad that I did because it was awesome. Mrs. Queen is the best! I learned a lot and it was a lot of fun. Mrs. Queen is professional and extremely knowledgeable. It was because of her that this tour was so awesome. The tour is a ride in a van and Mrs. Queen gives you so much history. I highly recommend if you’re visiting Memphis.

I was in Memphis for a festival and had been searching all over to find a tour for black history. I couldn’t find anything, and someone I met at the hotel bar said they were taking a tour that day with a Tour of Possibility. They were sold out for the day. I knew I wouldn’t have time Saturday to attend. I inquired anyway with the company and they were making exceptions for Sunday as they are usually closed.

Mrs “Queen” picked us up in her beautifully clean and air conditioned tour bus at exactly 9:30 am. The tour was scheduled for 2 hours but lasted longer. She said we were her only tourist for the day so she made extra stops she normally couldn’t make during her regular scheduled tours. We were able to get pictures at some stops. Queen know her history and it just inspired me so much.

Highly recommend this tour!! You won’t be disappointed

We took this tour with Ms. Jackie during the early part of our stay in Memphis, and am so glad we did. The main focus is African American history of Memphis, but it also touched upon some general history as well. Our main purpose in coming to Memphis was to visit the Civil Rights Museum at the Lorraine Motel. Ms. Jackie provided an excellent background of the sanitation strike which caused Dr. King to be in Memphis in the first place, and we stopped and toured the I Am A Man Memorial, which was fascinating, and which we never would have discovered on our own. (I did not see it in tour books I reviewed). That Memorial was essential to the civil rights history in Memphis. On a more "secular" note, Ms. Jackie also told us about other sights we would have never discovered--such as the "model" of the Mississippi River at Mud Island which, too, was fascinating. Plus, Ms. Jackie (as she requested to be called) was lovely, entertaining, personable, charming and also treated us to her beautiful voice and musical and acting talent. We highly recommend this tour, and suggest doing so very early in your visit to Memphis.

Queen treated my husband and I like VIPs. We made a last minute trip for Labor Day weekend from Charlotte,NC to Memphis after cancelling our planned trip to Florida due to Hurricane Dorian.

Since this trip was spur of the moment, we did not have time to research things to do in the area; however I knew I wanted to do a black history tour of the area. I did several quick searches Saturday morning and Tour of Possibilities kept popping up and included all of the sites we wanted to see. I was excited and called the number for the booking service from the Viator site and was quickly disappointed to find out the next available tour was not until Wednesday but I needed to leave Memphis on Tuesday. I asked if there was a waitlist for Sunday or Monday but the booking service was not able to provide the info.

I went directly to the Tour of Possibilities website and found another number. I spoke with someone from the touring company and was able to schedule a tour on Labor Day.

The tour started on time and Queen was very hospitable and accommodating. She was very knowledgeable about the area. The tour covered the major spots in Memphis, the significant role of African Americans had in building the city and major events from civil rights movement. It was EXACTLY what my husband wanted a d highly recommend this tour.

This tour was conducted comfortably, in the winter weather, in a roomy passenger van. I enjoyed the in depth knowledge Mrs. "Queen";-) shared with us! I've come to visit Memphis my whole life and learned A LOT of new information. My in-laws from Nashville and husband loved the tour as well!! We rode through Beale Street and saw several exhibits thoroughly explained in detail. This tour will give you insight on the historical Memphis. If you enjoy learning new things and history this is the tour for you! Mrs. Queen is very engaging and animated. Did I mention quizzes and music!!! You will remain engaged the entire two hour tour! Book your tour today!! I will definitely be back and recommend others!!

This was a terrific tour, and we were lucky to be part of a small group on a quiet Saturday afternoon. Queen is a hugely engaging and very warm tour guide. She showed us the 'sights', but took extra care to share aspects of the city's past that receive less attention, such as the 'station' in Memphis forming part of the underground railway, the church at which MLK spoke the night before he was assassinated, the home of Stax, Memphis's soul music heart, the soul food restaurants, the legacy of segregation in the city. It was a fascinating two hours and one of the best tours we've been on. And even though I did win a lot of pins from Queen for knowing a lot of stuff about Memphis, what she showed us that day was well beyond what we knew before we came. Highly recommended.
