Took the trolley ride and enjoyed the short tour of the city

Nice, inexpensive shorts tour of the city of Memphis. Enjoyed the ride and the driver shared some interesting info on the trip.

My hubby and 2 Friends took the trolley car on two occasions. It is brilliant value at just $3 for a 24 hour ticket or $1.25 per trip (no change given). I found the 3 routes a little complicated to follow however we just hopped off when we saw something we saw of interest. We rode to Lafayette cemetery and... More

An inexpensive trolley (now a bus, as the trolleys are being maintained), which is a good idea, especially for footsore tourists who don't want to pay a fortune to get around. But it was disappointing that it was hard to get a reliable source of the map [No printed version available from bus drivers or at the welcome centre, e.g.]... More

The original trams are being restored, so buses that resemble trams are being used. These run on rubber tyres (ordinary wheels) but they resemble trams, right down to the hard seats. 1 dollar per journey, or 3 dollars 75 cents for a day pass. No need to use a car in memphis these trolley buses cover most of the district.

The Trolley stopped right outside our hotel back entrance so it was very convenient for us when we wanted to travel to Beale Street.Very good atmosphere as everyone on the trolley was in a friendly mood. Why not - it's holiday time.

We were here in the heart of downtown Memphis for a few hours one afternoon, and then a few hours one friday night and never once saw this thing in service. Saw plenty or tracks and trolley stops, but never saw it actually going.

Trolleys run every 15 minutes. Get a map of the 3 lines and stops. You can get off and on for $3.75 a day. We didn't move our car until our last day visiting Memphis. Drivers are friendly and helpful.

We stayed in downtown Memphis with the Main Street Trolley at the back door of the hotel. It made traveling around the city center very easy for us, especially as we came home from Beale Street every night. The fare is $1 and you need exact change. On our last full day, we were wishing we had purchased a day... More

If i remember rightly, the trams are running on tyre wheels (like a bus) and not on the old rail tracks.(as they do in New Orleans)
