It's a nice ride from one end of Main St. to the other. Slow paced ride to site see. Passess by the Lorene Hotel, the oldest restaurant in Memphis, lots to observe on the trolley ride

There is something so relaxing and time-traveller ish about jumping onto the trolley and letting the town pass by. A great way to sightsee and rest your weary feet.

A quick way to get to Beale Street from our hotel. A little creepy at night the farther you got away from Beale Street. Sometimes the wait seemed long.

The nicest and most accommodating drivers I have ever encountered. When my son and I accidentally got on the wrong trolley, the driver was extremely helpful in telling us where to go to catch the correct trolley. He even let us wait in the trolley...More

These excellent trolleys stopped right outside our Hotel, the Sheriton, and cost just $1 regardless of how far you travel. They really evoke a slower and more patient way of travel. The main street trolley, which we used everyday, takes you directly to Beale Street...More

Trolley runs on Main street on electric lines which is very nostalgic. Trolleys are very clean with courteous conductors. For one dollar this is a great way to get around.

We alo ate at Blue Fin--but I bought a $25 restaurant.com coupon for $1 before we went, so it was really quite reasonable. I always check that website before we travel--used one at The BBQ Shop, too.

Trip Report - Day Two (3 Replies)
Thursday, May 13: Got up early and walked across the Square to the Blue Plate Cade. Had a delicious breakfast with some of the best biscuits I’ve eaten at a diner/restaurant, and then headed out to catch the Madison Ave. Trolley. Took the trolley to a stop within a block of Sun Records and entered the souvenir shop to get the tour tickets and look around. Took the tour of their museum and the studio where so much magic happened. The guide was very, very good and full of information. Well...More
