This park is beautiful and the Blue Plate Restaurant that looks like a "hole in the wall" on the South side of the square is economical and famous among the locals. After you view the square, eat at the Blue Plate, I suggest you caught the trolley that is usually under $2.00 and ride the entire loop (be sure to catch the right trolley, the riverfront and not Main Street) back before you leave the area. It is such a pleasant ride and on the last Friday night of the month it is a wine tasting and art gallery event.

If you love food trucks then this is a place to visit during lunch time. There had to be at least 12 different trucks there offering up all kinds of food. I wanted cheap so we went for hot dogs from the guy with the cart. Four of us ate for under $20 and they were good. Of course I was starving at the time but I enjoyed every bite.

I thought this park was beautiful, we walked from the Peabody and did not have any issues. I can see where being after dark may become an issue but we walked during the day and you can take the trolley or a handsome cab. We walked down 2nd but if you take 3rd to Court you will have the amazing view in the picture shown here.

This park has one of the most beautiful fountains I have seen in a park. The architecture of the surrounding buildings is also awesome. The only problem is that it is in a not so nice part of town. We saw it from the Main Street Trolley and drove through it when we rode the Carriage ride, both are excellent ways to view this park. I am sure it is fine during the day, but I would not recommend walking there in the evening.

It is nice to see with each return to Memphis the growth of areas that were formerly struggling. A lot of newer shops and restaurants have opened up on this end of Main Street. This park basically marks, at present, the cusp of the worthwhile areas of Memphis and the more seedy areas. There is a nice fountain in the center with benches to sit and relax under the shade of the trees. Horse carriages frequently ride through the park which adds some ambience. There are usually a mixture of tourists and vagrants in the evenings. If you are like me and act firm, but polite to those asking for money then you should be fine. A good place to sit and relax in the evening after dinner, but I would clear out by 8 PM in the summer because after that the crowd gets a little seedier.

My wife and I rode by Court Square Park on the trolley as we went from the Marriott to have dinner at the Rendevous. It is a scenic park in an edgy area of downtown. We did not see many people in the park, which I thought was a little unusual for a late Saturday afternoon. But, I can understand it based on the area. It is very scenic with a central fountain and some very large oak trees.

We enjoyed this green oasis in the middle of city buildings. Easy access to the trolley and carriages as well as local restaurants and hotels.

It is a nice small green area among the high buildings for sitting and taking a rest after strolling around on the main street. Sometimes you also find a foodtruck where you can have some drink etc.

Walked past early in the A.M. and found City Workers cleaning & sweeping to keep the Park clean & fresh ! A nice little spot to sit & relax & enjoy the sun . Noticed several food trucks moving in & jostling for positions , so expect it is a workers favourite spot later on in the day. Amazed that the Fountain was dry but full of many coins untouched by the local homeless ?? Being towards the end of a 6 week sojourn , I nearly scooped them up myself ?? A nice Square in downtown.

Love love love Food Truck Thursdays!! Lots of choices for lunch. The only drawback is that some lines are longer and you have to wait, possibly up to 10-20 minutes depending on which truck. But the food is always always good.
