I was pleasantly surprised, nice place to visit with or without children. We watched a show about the stars and constellations, saw a lot of the civil war memorabilia, very interesting!

The pink palace is a beautiful building made with pink stones. Ask the security guards for the history of the mansion. The staff is very nice and helpful. We got a coupon from our hotel that gave us a free entrance along with a purchase. There is plenty of free parking. We started with the natural history exhibits and enjoyed... More

The museum is very well kept and clean. The displays are nice. We loved the planetarium, but we did not use the theater. The palace was under renovation, but still had a great trip! There is a small bistro located inside and a nice gift shop.

Great for kids & adults. You can spend several hours and see everything. If you want to plan a fun 2-3 day weekend then visit here, the zoo, and the Children's Museum.

This is a decent museum with interesting exhibits but it is not an interactive children's museum. My kids liked the microscopes and the vein finder in the natural world section. There was a mini circus exhibit on the top floor. Wonderfully decorated Christmas trees were on display which was like a bonus exhibit. Our membership at our hometown children's museum... More

Unfortunately, the mansion portion was closed when we visited. We were not told this until after we purchased our tickets. This is a good place to learn about Memphis history. The highlight for me was the handmade wooden circus. Even unrestored it was incredible. The gemstones were pretty cool as well. Overall, it was ok.

We watched The Lights Before Christmas 3D and then Polar Express 3D. Nice seating and plenty of them! Sound system as well as screen were top notch.

This museum was really similar to the Smithsonian Museums in Washington DC which I loved! It has serval sections to it. It included sections on dinosaurs, skeletons, cells, the first Americans, and much much more. They have a planetarium and a 3D theater also. Easily could spend a full day there. Good as a family activity.

I grew up in the South but I had never heard of this museum. On the grounds of the estate of the founder of Piggly Wiggly stores, this museum features a little something for everyone. In my mind, it is a cross between a natural history museum and a history museum. There were exhibits that covered subjects such as geology,... More
