Shelby Farms Park has undergone extensive changes over the last few years and has become even more of a destination for everybody, but especially with children. The walking trails, rolling hills, lake, and visitors center are definitely a good place to take the family..

It is huge. I saw a lot of people fishing and there are a lot of trails to run, walk, bike. We saw the horses and they looked well taken care of. Rides on the horses start at $25. The playground area is ok but...More

Shelby Farms is a very nice way to spend a nice day. Lots of room to roam and on Saturdays there's a very good farmers' market with lots of fresh farm goodies.

I would not recommend it. The park is very safe during the day but I would not go there (and many other places) after dark.

There is no fee to get into and explore around the park. In terms of attractions, you can rent a bike or a canoe which will be about $20. There's a cafe to stop at as well.
